Vijayawada: The Bhagya Nagar Sri Mahankali Bonala Utsavala Ummadi Devalayala Uregimpu Committee offered a special Bangaru Bonam (Gold Bonam) to Goddess Kanaka Durga on Sunday, continuing their tradition for the 16th consecutive year. The sacred offering was made at the hill shrine on Indrakeeladri, symbolising the strong cultural bond between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Committee members began the day by performing special pujas and preparing the Bonam at Jammi Dhoddi Choultry at the foot of the hill. A colourful procession followed, showcasing five traditional Telangana folk art forms, including Pothuraju dance, Garaga Nruthyam, Bethala dance, and others. Women devotees carrying Bonam pots on their heads danced with devotion, while also performing Ganga Puja at the Krishna River near Durga Ghat. The procession was welcomed at the temple by endowments minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and Executive Officer Seena Nayak, who formally received the Bonam on behalf of the temple. Hyderabad Ummadi Devalayala Uregimpu Committee offered 'Bangaru Bonam' to Goddess Kanaka Durga atop Indrakeeladri here on Sunday. The committee members, along with 'Dappu Nrutyam', 'Kolatam', 'Nemali Nrutyam', 'Tappetlu' and other cultural troupes started the Bonalu procession from Brahmana Veedhi. Bangaru Bonam presented to deity at Golkonda temple
Hyderabad: The historic and famous Sri Lal Darwaja Simhavahini Temple, under the auspices of the Sri Mahankali Temple Committee, presented a Bangaru Bonam, silk clothes and vodi biyyam to the historical Golkonda Jagadamba Ammavaru on Friday. The family members of the temple committee chairman B Maruti Yadav and temple committee representatives performed special pujas to the goddess at the Sri Lal Darwaja Simhavahini Ammavari temple. Later, the procession, carrying the Bangaru Bonam on their heads with bands, left Lal Darwaja and reached the Golkonda Jagadamba Ammavari temple. There, the temple committee chairman Chanti Babu warmly welcomed the temple committee members and presented the Bangaru Bonam, silk clothes and vodi biyyam to the goddess.
