‘Sanskritik mela' showcases Bengali heritage, arts & spirit

Ranchi: The
Bangla Sanskritik Mela
kicked off with vibrant energy at Bhagwan Birsa Munda Smriti Park (Jail Park) in Ranchi on Friday, with a rich showcase of
Bengali heritage
, arts, and community spirit. Organised by the Bengalee Yuva Mancha Charitable Trust, the three-day festival not just aims to celebrate culture but serve a cause for the welfare of thalassaemia patients.
"The funds raised here will directly support treatment and awareness programs for thalassaemia patients," said Gautam Saha, one of the event organisers.A prominent attraction this year is the poster photo album installation, a visual homage to Bengali luminaries like Rabindranath Tagore, Khudiram Bose, Satyajit Ray, and Sukumar Ray. "The energy here is just unmatched. It feels like a little piece of Kolkata right here in Ranchi and all for a great cause," said Priya Das, a student who attended with her Bhattacharya, patron of the organising committee and JMM spokesperson, stated, "This is more than a celebration, it's about preserving and promoting the identity of the Bengali community through culture, creativity, and compassion."The mela will conclude on May 11.
