Libya, Islamic Development Bank discuss economic empowerment and food security
The Ministry of Finance held talks with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) to explore support for a number of development initiatives.
Finance Minister Khaled Al-Mabrouk met with an IsDB delegation led by Ahmed Ag Abou Bakrine in Tripoli during the group's official visit from 10 to 13 May.
The two sides discussed economic empowerment programmes targeting small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as initiatives to improve livelihoods through sustainable economic strategies.
Talks also covered food security efforts, capacity-building in Islamic finance, and enhancing partnerships between Libya's public and private sectors.
Al-Mabrouk welcomed the cooperation and praised preparations for a 2025–2028 country partnership programme, as well as plans for a 'Bank Activities Day' in Libya this July to raise awareness of the institution's role. Tags: Ministry of Finance Islamic Development Bank
