Hawaii Softball splits final day of opening weekend

The Hawaii Rainbow Wahine closed out action in the Bank of Hawaii Paradise Classic on Saturday. Hawaii coming into the final day with a chance to secure a spot in the championship game against Santa Clara. UH took to the bracket play at 12:30pm against Southern Indiana. Hawaii after no runs in the first 4 and a half innings, opened up the game with a 2-run 5th inning. Hawaii would score 4 more runs in the 6th to go on to win 6-0. In the Championship Game of the Classic, Hawaii and Santa Clara went head to head for the 2nd time in 3 days. Hawaii not having the same success at the plate like the rest of the weekend, as UH only tallies 4 hits and allows 10 hits. The Rainbow Wahine fall 3-0. Hawaii Softball sweeps doubleheader, improves to 3-0

(HONOLULU, HI) The Hawaii Rainbow Wahine in the Bank of Hawaii Paradise Classic this weekend and on Friday, hitting the field for 2 games in a doubleheader. In the first game of the day against Saint Louis, Hawaii won 5-2. Chloe Borges leading the way with 2 RBI's on a Double to help give the Wahine a 4th inning lead. The Wahine would score 1 run in the 5th and 6th innings to put it away for the win. In the 2nd game of the doubleheader, Hawaii taking on Southern Indiana. The Rainbow Wahine once again took an early lead in the game after scoring 2 runs in the 3rd inning. Fast forward to the 6th inning, UH leading 3-2 added some insurance runs after Amelia 'Millie' Fidge connected on a 2-run homerun to left center field.
