Shivarama Karantha Award to Shivarama Karantha Award
N.T. Bhat, Baragur Ramachandrappa, and Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar have been chosen for the Shivarama Karantha Award 2025. The award, presented by the Shivarama Karantha Trust, Moodbidri, carries a purse of ₹20,000.
Mr. Bhat is a well-known professor of English and German, having translated numerous works from Kannada into English and German.
Mr. Ramachandrappa is a writer who is known for his social and intellectual stance. He has authored many research works, novels, poetry collections, short stories, and plays, and is also a creative film director.
Mr. Chandrashekhar a professor, novelist, short-story writer, and travelogue writer. He has directed many films which promote social values. He has also made significant contributions to improving the lives of farmers and developing his village school.
The trust, for the past three decades, has been honouring those making outstanding contributions in various fields, through the award, a release by Jayaprakash Mavinkuli, general secretary of the trust, said.
