Man, woman arrested after traffic stop reveals missing Nevada juvenile
TOQUERVILLE, Utah () — A man and woman were arrested Saturday after a traffic stop revealed a missing juvenile from Nevada in the back seat of their car, police say.
Court documents show that just after 11 p.m., John Anthony Hampton, 41, and Barbara Grace Singleton, 26, were pulled over on I-15 near Toquerville Saturday.
The two were allegedly speeding in a Mercedes-Benz when a Utah Highway Patrol trooper began following them. As the trooper reduced his speed, the Mercedes-Benz did as well, prompting the officer to pull them over both for speeding and failing to yield to faster traffic.
According to police, the rear passenger of the car was identified as a missing juvenile out of Nevada. Police also found messages on the suspects' phones about how much money the juvenile would make for 'turning tricks.'

After searching the car, the officer found 'clothes resembling that of a prostitute,' documents show. Marijuana, ecstasy, and brass knuckles were also allegedly found in the vehicle.
According to court documents, both Hampton and Singleton were booked into the Washington County Jail and are currently being held without bail.
Charges are allegations only. All arrested persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
