I decluttered my son's bedroom with a £4 B&M shoe rack hack that looks super stylish & way more expensive
A BARGAIN hunter mum has shared a super simple hack to declutter a child's bedroom. So if your little darling is obsessed with toy cars and you're constantly finding them all over the floor and in every single drawer, then you'll need to check this out. 2 2 Not only did Kristie Dewar tidy up her son's mess with her handy trick, but it also gave his bedroom an epic transformation too. Eager to show off her interior idea which cost her just £12, Kristie took to social media and explained exactly how you can do the same too. Posting on Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, a private Facebook group with 2.6 million members, Kristie detailed how she used a shoe rack, MDF and paints to give a plain wall a mega makeover and create a jaw-dropping lorry feature, which stores her son's toy cars. Alongside her post, Kristie beamed: 'Not perfect by any means (I stuck the wheels on with super glue then realised they should be down a bit - hey ho) but I'm pleased with it. 'The total cost was £12 which is a bargain as pre-made it is a lot more.' on a budget. 'Can get as creative as you want! 'I wanted [something] simple as my son is only two and all he cares about is cars and bright colours!' For Kristie's gorgeous wall feature, she used a cheap shoe rack, which she bought from B&M for just £4. She also used laser cut MDF which she got for £8 (including delivery) from Manchester Laser Cuts. I didn't want to fork out hundreds for a new front door but a 99p Shein buy & a lick of paint worked wonders As well as this, to save on costs Kristie used paints she already had. To create her truck design, the DIY savvy mum shared: 'Basically stack the shoe rack on top of the other and using the holes already there, drill into the wall (put plugs into the wall first). 'Then paint the MDF and used command strips to stick it up.' Alongside her shoe rack feature, Kristie painted on the front and back of a lorry, including detailed wheels. DIY fans beam We think Kristie's DIY overhaul is incredibly impressive and it's clear that many others do too, as her Facebook post has quickly amassed 229 likes in just seven hours. DIY trick, which was described by numerous users as 'fantastic'. One person said: 'Love this, thank you for the idea!!' Another added: 'Well done, that looks amazing.' A third commented: 'That's brilliant.' Meanwhile, someone else tagged a loved one and penned: 'This is cute.'

Savvy mum shares ‘great idea' to ‘bring the beach home' & ‘save money' – it's perfect for entertaining kids on hot days
A SAVVY mum has shared a super simple trick that will keep your kids entertained on warm days. So with the weekend finally here and the weather heating up, if you're on a mission to find cheap ways to ensure your little ones stay busy and happy, you've come to the right place. 1 And particularly if you live far away from the beach or don't fancy leaving your house, you won't want to miss this. Stevie Norman, a bargain hunter mother from the UK eagerly took to social media to share her handy trick that promises hours of fun for your little darlings. Posting on Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, a private Facebook group with 2.6 million members, Stevie posted a snap of her DIY sand pit tent, leaving many open-mouthed. Alongside her post, Stevie beamed: 'Best idea I've stolen.' Stevie confirmed that instead of splashing loads of cash on a posh sand pit, she nabbed a pop-up tent for just £18 from B&M, as well as six bags of sand for just £24 from Tesco, thanks to a three for £12 deal. Stevie put the blue tent in her garden and filled it with the purse-friendly sand, as well as some beach toys, which left her little girl overjoyed. Thrilled with the idea, which has been hailed as 'great' by many, Stevie wrote: 'Now my two [kids] have plenty of space.' Not only this, but she also acknowledged: 'I can zip it up so the neighbours ' cats can't use it as a toilet.' We think Stevie's hack is a great idea for keeping kids entertained - and if you're seriously strapped for cash, you can find bags of sand even cheaper from B&Q, for just £3.70 a bag. Stevie's post has clearly impressed many, as it was shared just 13 hours ago, but has quickly racked up over 1,100 likes and 425 comments. Social media users were open-mouthed by the simple but effective idea, that is sure to 'bring the beach home', and many eagerly raced to the comments to express this. One person said: 'Very good idea, kids will love it.' Another added: 'What a great idea.' A third commented: 'Defo doing this over summer.' Free summer holiday activites You don't need to spend a penny to keep your kids entertained this summer... Museums - Some museums offer free entry to some exhibits, and also host events for kids. Parks - Head to your local park to enjoy the playgrounds, games areas, courts and splash pads. Some even have trails for kids to enjoy. Beach - It doesn't have to be sunny to enjoy the beach, you can go rock pooling, crabbing, make sandcastles, or enjoy a walk along the headland. Library - If the weather is awful, head indoors and borrow books, audiobooks, dvds. Cooking - Have your own mini bake-off, or Come Dine With Me challenge. Playdates - Invite friends over for an afternoon of socialising. Boardgames - Enjoy a little sibling rivalry with rounds of Monopoly or stretch your brain with Scrabble. Whilst someone else tagged a loved one and penned: 'Bring the beach home for the girls.' At the same time, another person alerted a Facebook user and wrote: 'Could have saved yourself some money.' Despite this, not everyone was as on board with the idea, as one mother warmed: 'Don't do it. I did it years ago. Absolute nightmare when the time comes to empty it.' A second stressed: 'Even though there is a big opening on the side the air is unable to circulate causing the internal temperature to be considerably hotter.' And another acknowledged: 'Just remember to zip it up at night or foxes will use it as a toilet. Neighbour learnt this the hard way.'
