New Orlando Pirates signing breaks silence on the move!

Orlando Pirates have wasted no time in their efforts to rebuild their squad ahead of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership campaign. Pirates finished the previous season as runners up to Mamelodi Sundowns for the third time in a row. They had a decent run in the cup competitions as well. They retained their MTN8 crown, winning it a record third time in a row. They then lost out in the final of the Nedbank Cup to arch rivals Kaizer Chiefs, while chasing a similar feat. But perhaps, more impressively, they had a stellar CAF Champions League campaign. They reached the semi-finals, before losing out to eventual winners Pyramids FC. Pirates were also able to top their group and go unbeaten in a group featuring Al Ahly. Now as they have drawn a close to a three-year era of Spanish coach Jose Riveiro, a new one ensues. Before even announcing their new coach, Pirates seem to already be backing him with the necessary tools. It is believed that they have already reached transfer agreements with at least five players ahead of the new season. One of those being Baroka FC star Tshepho Mashiloane. Mashiloane is set to move to Pirates from Baroka in a double deal that includes teammate Kabelo Kgositsile. After not being able to get Baroka into the playoffs, the versatile player admits it would've been the perfect parting gift. 'I would have loved to go to Orlando Pirates knowing that I have promoted my team [Baroka FC]. But I believe the guys will do well next season and promote the team. The chairman [Khurishi Mphahlele] has supported me and my move to Pirates and is happy. I will have to up my game when I get there [to Pirates] so I can stay competitive. I would love to get a chance to play in the cup competitions like the Carling Knockout Cup, MTN8, and Nedbank Cup. But I understand I need to work hard to earn it. I want to achieve a lot of things at Pirates.' Said Mashiloane as per FARPost. Pirates fans, what do you make of the signing of Mashiloane ahead of next season? Kaizer Chiefs midfielder to restart his career in KZN?

Mduduzi Mdantsane has been forgotten as a Kaizer Chiefs footballer. New reports suggest the dream is over. The 30-year-old attacking midfielder from Leandra, Mpumalanga, first made his name at Baroka FC in 2017 before playing his best football at Cape Town City FC in 2019. Kaizer Chiefs came calling in 2023. With only 16 appearances at Kaizer Chiefs, Mdantsane was surprisingly loaned out to Richards Bay FC in January. The skilful attacker played no more than three games at the Natal Rich Boyz as he looks ahead to preseason with Amakhosi. Nevertheless, reports say Richards Bay are keen to sign Mdantsane from Kaizer Chiefs. 'He didn't play much this season after joining the team in January but it's believed that the technical team is interested in keeping him after the loan deal ends,' Soccer Laduma reported. 'Apparently, they believe he has a lot to offer to the team because of his experience. 'I don't think it will be a problem from Kaizer Chiefs' point of view as even in this past season they were willing to let him go permanently but at that time there was not much interest in signing him permanently. 'But apparently at the moment Richards Bay have shown interest and it's believed it will all depend on the talks and negotiations. But the interest is there from Richards Bay,' the insider concluded. 'The Buccaneers have been linked with the right back from the Motsepe Foundation Championship side for some time now, but talks were progressing slowly, given both clubs had their focus on their respective leagues,' the reporter added. In the meantime, former Baroka FC head coach Dan Malesela says Orlando Pirates have signed a special player. 'Mashiloane is extraordinary. He is a very special and talented right-back,' Malesela told 'While he is not yet a complete player – there are a few aspects he needs to work on – he is solid in defence and outstanding going forward. He scored goals for us and created numerous chances. However, it's essential to remember that no player enters the PSL as a complete package, especially those coming from lower leagues. 'There are specific things that Mashiloane can learn from the experienced players at Pirates. Although he is strong, gifted, and technically skilled, he still has room to grow. 'As a coach, I encourage people to ask me about the players I have coached. Sometimes, fans and teams fail to understand these players, which can lead to misconceptions about their abilities,''Mashiloane is extraordinary.
