Barcelona set to lose prolific 19-year-old La Masia forward on a free transfer
Barcelona's Juvenil A striker, Hugo Alba, is close to signing a three-year contract with Serbian 1st division club OFK Belgrade, reports Carlos Monfort in SPORT. This development comes after the player turned down a renewal offer from his current club, Barça, as his current contract is set to expire in June 2025. Advertisement The 19-year-old striker has had an impressive season, scoring 28 goals and attracting attention from clubs abroad. Alba's decision to reject Barça's renewal proposal has sparked a wave of speculation about his future. Despite reports suggesting a possible transfer to Red Star, Alba is set to join OFK Belgrade, a team that also plays in the first division, on a deal that will take him to 2028. With a transfer fee reportedly agreed upon, Alba's move to Serbia seems certain, marking a new chapter in his career. Impact of Barça Atletic's relegation Barça Atletic's relegation to the 2nd RFEF has triggered a domino effect, impacting sporting planning and leading to expected movements. The youth academy faces the challenge of building a young and competitive squad to return to top-tier football next season. Several players have received offers, and Alba's potential departure is one of many expected exits. Advertisement The relegation has forced Barça's youth academy to rethink their strategy, with a focus on developing young talent and creating a competitive squad. Alba's exit would be a significant blow to the team, but it would also create opportunities for other players to step up. One player who could benefit from Alba's departure is Oscar Gistau, a young striker born in 2008, who has played 6 games this season after overcoming a long-term injury, scoring two goals. Gistau's talent and determination have earned him a spot in the team, and Alba's departure could pave the way for more opportunities. With Alba's move to OFK Belgrade seemingly imminent, the spotlight will soon shine on Gistau and other young talents to make a lasting impression.

Emerging Barcelona midfield talent reaches agreement with Qatari side
Barcelona are set to suffer a quiet but significant loss this summer with Pau Prim, one of the brightest talents from Barça Atletic, set to join Qatari club Al Sadd, according to Mundo Deportivo. The 19-year-old midfielder, long regarded as a potential first-team pivot, has decided to leave the club after rejecting a renewal offer from Barça. Advertisement Unless there is a last-minute twist, which appears virtually impossible, Prim will bid farewell to the Blaugrana after the final matchday of the First Federation season, where Barca Atletic take on Unionistas de Salamanca. Interestingly, he won't even feature in the squad for that match. Since rejecting the financial terms of the renewal proposal, Prim has been sidelined from team selections, though he continued training with the group. Reasons behind his exit His decision to walk away from Barcelona comes down to two primary reasons: finances and opportunity. The contract extension offered by the club, which ran until June 2025, was not attractive enough for Prim or his representatives. Pau Prim is all set to join Al Sadd. (Photo by Vasile Mihai-Antonio/Getty Images for DFB) Additionally, the player saw his pathway to the first team as increasingly blocked. With the likes of Marc Bernal, Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, Marc Casado, and even Eric Garcia capable of operating in midfield, the competition for minutes was simply too fierce. Advertisement It is worth noting that Al Sadd had already shown interest in Prim during the January transfer window. Talks back then did not materialise into a move, but the situation escalated when he was frozen out of matchday squads. From that moment, his exit became inevitable. Prior to his exclusion, Prim had played 16 matches this season, guiding the team to a stable position. Barcelona's loss could be Al Sadd's gain. The Qatari side have secured a technically gifted, intelligent midfielder who was once tipped to take over Sergio Busquets' role in the long run.

Barcelona plan to loan out 19-year-old La Masia gem following renewal until 2028
As reported earlier today, La Masia prodigy Aron Yaakobishvili arrived at the Barcelona offices to sign his contract renewal with the club. The 19-year-old goalkeeping prodigy's deal stood to run out at the end of the ongoing season, and efforts to extend his stay have been ongoing for some time now. Advertisement After he joined hands with the agency of Pini Zahavi, Yaakobishvili visited the club facilities earlier today for the formal signing of his contract, although an official announcement is still awaited. Barcelona plan to loan Yaakobishvili next season Building on that, Fabrizio Romano now reports that Yaakobishvili has signed a new contract with Barcelona until the summer of 2028. Furthermore, as per the transfer expert, the plan is for Barcelona to loan out the 19-year-old Hungarian prodigy for the next season. Yaakobishvili has been a key part of the Barça Juvenil A setup this season that won the treble under Juliano Belletti while also making a few appearances for Barça Atletic. Advertisement While the next logical step would have been for the 19-year-old to be fully promoted to Barça Atletic, the possibility of them being relegated to the RFEF Segunda Division means the club might look to loan out promising players to a team at a higher level. Barcelona are considering such a move with Juan Hernandez amidst Chelsea and Manchester United interest and are likely to follow the same strategy with Yaakobishvili as well. The idea is for the teenage shot-stopper to go out on loan, play regularly, and return to the club to become a part of the long-term project.

Barcelona consider reintegrating teenage contract rebel in reserve team squad
The situation surrounding Barcelona youngster Pau Prim could take an unexpected turn. The 19-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and having been unwilling to accept the renewal proposal from the club, he has been exiled from the Barça Atletic squad for over a month. However, according to Mundo Deportivo, after being excluded from the Barça Atletic squad for the last seven official matches since 11 January 2025, the midfielder could make a return. With the arrival of Sergi Mila as head coach to replace Albert Sanchez, and given the team's pressing needs, the Blaugrana are considering freezing their decision to keep him off the pitch due to his refusal to renew his contract. There is ongoing internal debate, and discussions are taking place. This possibility remains on the table. The reversal of the measure is not yet final. Barcelona are evaluating the situation, and it appears that the new Barça Atletic coach may have the freedom to include him in the squad to help steer the team back on track. However, some voices within the club remain firm in their initial decision. Meanwhile, the player continues to train as usual, participating like any other squad member. Pau Prim had been a regular starter under Albert Sanchez and made 16 appearances, registering two assists before renewal disagreements forced him out of the team. The 19-year-old La Masia gem came close to signing for a Qatari club during the past winter transfer window. Indeed, he had an offer from Al Sadd and negotiations were advanced, but the move ended up collapsing. Now, Prim could be gifted with an opportunity to play for Barça Atletic again and it will be interesting to see whether it has any implication on his future.
