Award for Bheemanna Khandre
The All-India Veerashiva Mahasabha, Kerala unit, has conferred the 'Basavarathna Puraskaram' to centenarian former Minister Bheemanna Khandre.
A release said that the award was in honour of his initiative to amalgamate Kerala Veerashaiva Sabha with the All-India Veerashaiva Mahasabha when he was the mahasabha president. 'The award is a token of gratitude from the Kerala people for his care and consideration,' the release added.
His son and Karnataka's Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre will receive the award on behalf of Mr. Bheemanna Khandre during the Basava Jayanti celebration conference to be held on May 4 at Thrissur. Kerala's Higher Education Minister R. Bindhu, Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala and mahasabha national secretary Renuka Prasanna and others will attend.
