Egyptian and Tunisian flags - file CAIRO - 9 May 2025: Egyptian Ambassador in Tunis Bassem Hassan and Speaker of the Tunisian Assembly of People's Representatives (ARP) Ibrahim Bouderbala asserted the importance of promoting parliamentary and legislative cooperation at the bilateral, regional, and multilateral levels. During a meeting with the Tunisian lawmaker and the Egyptian diplomat on Friday, the two sides hailed the friendly and fraternal relations between both countries, both at the official and grassroots levels. They also highlighted the shared positions adopted by both countries, as well as their joint efforts to address regional and international issues, atop of which is the Palestinian cause, and the efforts made to enable the Palestinian people to establish their independent state based on relevant international legitimacy resolutions.

CAIRO, Feb 14 (MENA) - Tunisia's Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Mohamed Ben Ayad asserted his country's full support for Egypt's stance and keenness to render the emergency Arab summit, set for Cairo on February 27, successful. The minister's remarks made during his meeting with Egyptian Ambassador to Tunisia Bassem Hassan at the premises of the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The two sides reviewed the two countries' firm stances rejecting the ideas related to the displacement of Palestinians from their lands. They also expressed their outright rejection of any attempts to eliminate the Palestinian cause, stressing the necessity of adopting unified Arab stances during the current stage. They also stressed the importance of maintaining the ceasefire agreement and accelerating reconstruction efforts. In this regard, the Egyptian diplomat expressed Egypt's deep appreciation of Tunisia's stance and the strong and explicit statement issued by the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on February 11 to assert solidarity with Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan and the Tunisian and Arab stances towards the Palestinian rights. He also reviewed the ongoing efforts and contacts to set the stage for the Cairo-hosted emergency Arab summit, considering it a perfect opportunity to demonstrate the Arab countries' unified positions.
