I recently realized that many cartoons I grew up watching are now over 20 years old. While I ponder time flying, here are some you might remember watching if you're a Millennial or Gen Zer! 1. Ed, Edd n Eddy (1999–2008) was a top-tier Cartoon Network television series. 2. Dexter's Laboratory (1996–2003) is another gem from Cartoon Network's golden age. Cartoon Network 3. Batman: The Animated Series (1992–1995) changed the game for animated comic book adaptations. Fox Kids 4. Spider-Man: The Animated Series (1994–1998) is very underrated. Fox Kids 5. CatDog (1998–2005) is a Nicktoon that should be talked about more often. Nickelodeon 6. Cow and Chicken 's theme song (1997–1999) is a massive earworm. Cartoon Network 7. Rocko's Modern Life (1993–1996) paved the way for SpongeBob SquarePants. Nickelodeon 8. Gargoyles (1994–1997) was Disney's answer to Batman: The Animated Series. ABC 9. X-Men: The Animated Series (1992–1997) was so good that it got revived as X-Men '97. Fox Kids 10. Similar to X-Men, Animaniacs (1993–1998) got a revival series in 2020. The WB 11. It's a crime Johnny Bravo (1997–2004) hasn't been given a revival series. Cartoon Network 12. Out of all of these cartoons, Recess (1997–2001) has one of the strongest ensembles of characters. Disney 13. The Wild Thornberrys (1998–2004) gets overshadowed by other Nicktoons, but I remember it being a fun watch. Nickelodeon 14. When it comes to '90s Nicktoons, Hey Arnold! (1996–2004) can only be matched by a certain one below... Nickelodeon 15. You honestly can't bring up nostalgic cartoons without bringing up Rugrats (1991–2003). It's the definitive '90s cartoon. Nickelodeon Which of these cartoons do you fondly remember the most?

Warner Bros. responds to ‘disc rot' issue with its movie DVDs
Movie fans with a lovingly curated DVD collection might want to check the condition of any Warner Bros. discs in their library. It turns out that hundreds of DVD titles manufactured by the entertainment giant between 2006 and 2008 have succumbed to a long-known phenomenon called 'disc rot,' a deterioration in a DVD's condition that results in freezing, glitches, or complete failure during playback. DVDs that are properly stored and handled really shouldn't fall apart like this in such a short space of time, suggesting that a serious issue during the manufacturing stage has impacted these particular Warner Bros. discs. The good news is that the company has acknowledged the problem and is offering replacements — though not refunds — for affected discs. But only if the movie is still in print, and so long as Warner Bros. still has the rights to the title. In a statement shared by movie site JoBlo, Warner Bros. said it's 'aware of potential issues affecting select DVD titles manufactured between 2006 – 2008, and the company has been actively working with consumers to replace defective discs.' The statement continued: 'Where possible, the defective discs have been replaced with the same title. However, as some of the affected titles are no longer in print or the rights have expired, consumers have been offered an exchange for a title of like-value. Consumers with affected products can contact the customer support team at whv@ The issue appears to affect a wide range of titles, including classic Hollywood movies such as Stanley Kubrick: Director's Series edition of 2001: A Space Odyssey, Superman movies up to Superman Returns, and popular TV series like Looney Tunes Collections and Batman: The Animated Series. While Warner Bros. is at least doing what it can to ease the irritation for customers, some folks' DVD libraries may be left with gaping holes through no fault of their own. JoBlo's Chris Bumbray, who brought the Warner Bros. issue to greater prominence in a report over the weekend, said that after testing some of his DVDs, he's now left staring at a bunch of 'expensive coasters.' Curious about how to convert your DVDs to a digital format? Here's everything you need to know.

Mark Hamill's ‘trousers fall down' in ‘horrifying' Baftas wardrobe malfunction
Star Wars icon Mark Hamill suffered an unfortunate outfit mishap on Sunday (16 February) when his trousers fell down while presenting the Best Film award at the Baftas. Hamill, 73, was presenting the final award of the night, which the Vatican-thriller Conclave won. Before the main award was announced, Hamill made his way onto the stage at London's Royal Festival Hall to introduce the nominees. However, when standing at the lectern the actor appeared to have trouble with his outfit and had to pull his trousers up after they slipped from his waist. According to The Sun, a source from the front row said: ''All the big stars such as Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Adrien Brody would have seen it from their angle. Most guests looked horrified but said nothing.' The source added: 'They were turning to each other wide-eyed as if to say, did that just happen?' Hamill, though, handled the situation like a pro and didn't once pause his speech, despite the mishap. The Batman: The Animated Series actor began by saying: 'If you're in the room like me, you must love film - so what makes us love cinema so much that we're all gathered here to celebrate tonight. For me, it's that films create worlds so vivid and stories so powerful that we lose ourselves completely.' As he reached the end of his sentence, Hamill became alarmed and had to reach down to grab his trousers and pull them back up before anyone noticed. As he made himself presentable again, he continued: 'They create immersive cinematic landscapes that feel live whether they're set here in London or anywhere you imagine they can take you.' Thankfully for Hamill, the rest of his appearance did not include any more wardrobe malfunctions. Conclave won the joint most awards on the night with Edward Berger's film also claiming the prizes for Outstanding British Film, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Editing. The Brutalist also won four awards with Adrien Brody being named as Best Actor and Brady Corbet winning Best Director. The epic also won Best Cinematography and Best Original Score. Meanwhile, Best Actress went to Mikey Madison for her performance in Anora, as a stripper who impulsively marries the son of a Russian oligarch. Zoe Saldaña was awarded Best Supporting Actress for Emilia Pérez and Kieran Culkin won Best Supporting Actor for A Real Pain.

Fans Are Divided After Anthony Mackie Said Captain America Doesn't Only Represent "America," And We Need To Talk About It
This post is an Op-Ed and shares the author's personal views. Anthony Mackie explained what Captain America represents for him, and the fans are unsparingly divided. It's become Marvel Cinematic Universe lore that the fanbase of the superhero franchise is constantly battling in a civil war on the internet, debating which films hold up to their comic book origins or completely ruin the legacy. When Chris Evans's Captain America handed over the shield to Falcon (Anthony), I braced myself for the backlash because heaven forbid any fictional character be replaced with a woman or person of color. Marvel Yes, I do hold a slight bias when accepting this new Captain America (he looks like me), but I'm also a lifelong comic book fan and understand there are many iterations and versions of our favorite heroes. Since I was born, I've had over seven versions of Batman on the silver screen. Perhaps it's a hot take, but Kevin Conroy's Batman will always be the best in my book. Batman: The Animated Series FTW! I even dealt with the fact that my 10-year-old nephew had no idea why all the adults were cheering so hard when Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield showed up in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Gen X and millennial Spider-Men FTW! So, it's high time we learned that one new Captain America in the MCU isn't going to tarnish your childhood memories. Whether the First Avenger's successor is a Black person, a woman, or a cute little dog, there's enough room for everybody. When it comes to refusing a new Captain America, as the great Keke Palmer said during her reign at HBO's Legendary,"The storyline for me has run stale." HBO With that being said, how the moniker of Captain America is discussed is a touchy subject, so when Anthony shared his take on what the character represents for him, I knew the internet was going to pop off with polarizing reactions. In a fan video making the rounds on the internet, Anthony said, "Captain America represents a lot of different things, and I don't think the term 'America' should be one of those representations. It's about a man who keeps his word, who has honor, dignity, and integrity." "Someone who is trustworthy and dependable. This is ... an aspect of a dream coming true," he added. "When I was kid, all of us as actors, I believe, want to get back to that day before someone told you 'no.' When you look out your door, and you see a 5-year-old kid with a stick, and he's slaying dragons to save the princess that's in a tower, that kid really believes there's dragons out there. That stick is really a sword, and he's trying to save that princess," he said. "Then, one day, somebody told him, "No, there are no dragons. That is not a sword, and that princess is not there, and all of his little dreams were dashed. So, as an actor, I feel like our job is to get back to that day we see that dragon, and we slay that dragon and save that princess. That's what this movie was for me." And others were quick to challenge this assertion, writing, "I think you're misunderstanding what Mackie was saying. Steve Rogers represents what America should be not necessarily what it is. Steve often even in the comics went against America if it conflicted with what he thought was right. It's also true in the movies." Captain America: Civil War (2016) anyone? Marvel In my opinion, so-called fans who were already upset by Anthony taking over the title of Captain America are going to twist, turn, and flip his words into justifications for being against the movie so they don't have to fear being labeled a "racist" or "bigot." Whether preteen wizards reside in the United Kingdom, lightsaber-wielding warriors come from a galaxy far, far away, or a patriotic superhero comes from the United States — they do represent far more than just their origins. No matter who you are, if you think the world isn't bigger than you, then perhaps you need to open up a few more comic books. Captain America is Steve Rogers. Captain America is Sam Wilson. Captain America is someone "who keeps his word, who has honor, dignity, and integrity." Captain America is for everybody. And, let's face it: we all know that Captain America was real, and he would probably not be too keen on politically adjacent billionaires doing seemingly Hydra salutes during the inauguration, so there's that. Marvel / Captain America: Brave New World is in theaters Feb. 14.
