Nebraska softball to play UConn in the Baton Rouge NCAA Regional
The Nebraska softball team learned the regional assignment on Sunday evening. The Huskers will head to Baton Rouge, LA, for the Baton Rouge NCAA Regional.
Nebraska will play the UConn Huskies in the first game of the regional on Friday, May 16, at 2:00 p.m. CT. on ESPN+. The No. 1 seed LSU Tigers will play Southeastern Louisiana.
Nebraska earned an invite as an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. UConn received an automatic bid after defeating Creighton to win the Big East Tournament.
Nebraska enters the tournament after falling to the UCLA Bruins in the semifinal round of the Big Ten Tournament. Jordy Bahl was named the Big Ten Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year, the first player in conference history to earn both awards in the same season.
This will be Nebraska's 27th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. The Huskers rank 14th all-time in NCAA Tournament appearances, 20th in wins (65), and 14th in Women's College World Series (7).
