Frankenmuth's Bavarian Blast Indoor Waterpark is now open. What you'll find inside

Frankenmuth's Bavarian Blast Indoor Waterpark — billed as Michigan's largest indoor waterpark — opened a major expansion on Friday, the company announced on Facebook. "This project is a true testament to our commitment to creating enjoyable experiences for all ages and now it's time to make a splash!" Frankenmuth Bavarian Inn Lodge said on Facebook. The water park was intended to open before Christmas in 2024. "We have been eagerly anticipating the grand opening of our new Bavarian Blast Indoor Waterpark," the Bavarian Inn said on its website. "We are excited to announce our soft opening to overnight hotel guests and limited day pass visitors beginning Friday, March 21, 2025." The German-themed hotel and water park first opened in 1986. The more than $80 million expansion, which includes 16 water slides, an adult-only swim-up bar, lazy river, wave pool, private cabanas that occupy 125,000 square feet of space, is the seventh expansion for the attraction. Previously, the largest expansion the lodge saw was $14 million during its third phase in 1995 when 156 guest rooms, a gift shop, third indoor pool, second restaurant and an 18-hole indoor mini-golf course were added. Here more on the biggest water park in Michigan: Bavarian Inn workers announced its soft opening on Friday, March 21. New amenities at the water park include: The water park has added 16 new water slides, ranging from solo to six-person slides A wave pool A "not so lazy" river An adult-only swim-up bar A laser tag arena A three-story rope course Rock-climbing walls Mini bowling Glass walls and roof to allow year-round tanning Private cabanas In Frankenmuth, at 1 Covered Bridge Lane, just across the Cass River from the Bavarian Inn in downtown. Water park day passes cost $80, and for seniors and military it costs $73. The water park is open Sunday through Thursday from noon to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from noon to 9 p.m. You can book your stay, buy a water park pass or plan an event online through the Inn's website. Frankenmuth is also known for the classic chicken dinner at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant at 713 S.
