The film, directed by the legendary Hrishikesh Mukherjee , remains a beloved gem in Hindi cinema for its heartwarming narrative and understated charm. A Glimpse into the Bawarchi Family The photo was recently by veteran actor Asrani, now 84, who also played a pivotal role in the film. We were in sync with our vision and I wholeheartedly agreed to come on board as the writer-director." As per the last available update, Anushree Mehta had completed the script for the 'Bawarchi' adaptation and had aimed to commence filming in 2024. Conversations regarding the film's casting, with potential A-listers in consideration, were also reportedly underway. However, no further updates on the film's progress have been released since.
