Kansas City Chiefs release veteran TEs, promising OL in roster moves after 2025 NFL draft
The Kansas City Chiefs made a few moves after the 2025 NFL draft to accommodate incoming rookies on their roster.
While Kansas City only selected seven players in the draft, the Chiefs signed several undrafted free agents when the Annual Player Selection Meeting concluded, which meant that several veterans had to be waived or released for the team to stay under the 90-man offseason roster cap.
Among the players who saw their time in Kansas City come to an abrupt end were tight ends Anthony Firkser and Baylor Cupp, offensive lineman McKade Mettauer, defensive back Jason Taylor, and linebacker Shaun Bradley.
These moves aren't expected to have a significant impact on the Chiefs' trajectory heading into the 2025 season, and the players involved could re-sign with Kansas City before training camp if the team finds itself in need of reliable depth later this summer.
