Morocco's Bayt Mal Al-Qods agency boosts Gaza aid with 500 food baskets and educational support
On Wednesday, the rescue teams of the Ertiqaa Community Development Association in Gaza completed the distribution of 500 food baskets to families across various parts of the Gaza Strip. This initiative was led by the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency, which operates under the Al-Qods Committee chaired by King Mohammed VI. Carried out in multiple phases, the operation was funded by the Moroccan Association for the Support of Reconstruction in Palestine, with support from the Morocco-Palestine Solidarity Association. It reached displaced families in Mawasi Khan Younès, central governorates, refugee camps, and Gaza City. This humanitarian effort is part of Morocco's ongoing official and grassroots support for the Palestinian cause. It aims to enhance food security among the most vulnerable families and ease their suffering amid difficult living conditions. In May, the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency disbursed the first installment of funding for a prosthetics program benefiting 23 children with amputations in Gaza. The initiative was coordinated with the Palestinian Ministry of Social Development in Ramallah and supported by Morocco's Ministry of Solidarity, Social Integration, and Family. The Agency has also helped strengthen the education system in the Gaza Strip by providing cloud servers and a distance learning platform to Al-Azhar University in Gaza. It awarded scholarships for the new semester to students at the King Hassan II Faculty of Agronomic Sciences and welcomed eight of them to continue their studies at the Hassan II Agronomic and Veterinary Institute (IAV) in Rabat.

On Sunday, the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency launched the Chair of Moroccan Studies at Al-Qods University in the Holy City, a new academic specialty designed to promote academic exchanges and the influence of Moroccan culture and civilization in Palestine. The launch ceremony was attended by the Director of the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency, Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, the President of Al-Qods University, Hanna Abdennour, the Chair's President, Safae Nasser Eddine, and a number of researchers and students. The Chair's studies will focus on analyzing the social ties and solidarity uniting Morocco and Palestine, within the context of a space that illustrates their historical, human, cultural, and civilizational relations. Speaking on this occasion, Abdennour stressed that the creation of the Chair will contribute to consolidating the cultural, social, political, and spiritual ties uniting the Moroccan and Palestinian peoples, which have enabled Moroccans to maintain very close relations with the Maqdessi social fabric. The aim of this initiative is not only to strengthen the various aspects of cultural exchanges between the academic communities of the two countries but also to revitalize the age-old historical ties that have always united them. Additionally, it seeks to enrich and promote the Moroccan cultural presence in Al-Qods through high-quality research and studies, he affirmed. The President of Al-Qods University expressed his gratitude to the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency for its praiseworthy efforts to preserve the memory of the Palestinians and support the Maqdessi through qualitative initiatives and programs in various fields. For his part, Cherkaoui indicated that the Agency's launch marked a further step toward strengthening the attachment of Moroccans to Al-Qods. He noted that this academic field would contribute to consolidating a multidimensional Moroccan presence in the Holy City and in Palestine through scientific and academic research. In this regard, Cherkaoui called on the administration of the Chair of Moroccan Studies to take advantage of this opportunity to achieve its expected objectives and implement its annual action plan. He also encouraged them to work for positive and constructive collaboration with the annual action plan of the Moroccan Cultural Center (Bayt Al Maghrib). He announced that the Moroccan Cultural Centre will host the headquarters of the Chair's administration, pending the completion of the premises dedicated to it on the university campus.
