Bearú restaurant owners ‘genuinely shocked' to be crowned Best Newcomer in the country
The eatery in New Ross, Wexford has been making a great impression since it opened in 2024
New Ross Standard
It's a long way from sachets of dried 'mashed potato and Angel Delight mix' that the newcomer and award-winning chef in New Ross, Dave Rowley, was reared on, of which he proves daily in his continuous delivery of fresh and local cuisine throughout each service in the Bearú kitchen on South Street, New Ross.
On July 18, 2024, Dolphin's Barn native, Dave and his wife Siobhán Ward, were proud – and relieved – to finally see the restaurant doors open to the public, welcoming people in for a fine-dining experiencing, with a focus on locally sourced and fresh ingredients, at a reasonable cost to customers. The opening of Bearú came mutually much to the delight of food enthusiasts of the small town, as the choice of indulging in such experiences was limited to but a few establishments in the area.
