Former Lady Vol leads Ole Miss to SEC Tournament win against Florida
No. 11 seed Ole Miss (37-16) defeated No. 6 seed Florida (43-14), 6-3 in eight innings, Wednesday in the second round of the 2025 SEC Tournament at Jack Turner Field in Athens, Georgia.
Former Lady Vol and senior right fielder Lair Beautae went 2-for-4 and recorded one run for Ole Miss. She played for Tennessee from 2022-23 before transferring to Houston in 2024.
While at Tennessee, Beautae played in 93 games, including 88 starts. She recorded a .293 batting average and totaled 44 hits, 33 RBIs and nine doubles as a freshman. During her sophomore campaign for the Lady Vols, Beautae totaled four home runs, 29 RBIs and 21 runs. She totaled a career-high six RBIs against Mercer on April 6, 2023.
Beautae also hit a grand slam in Tennessee's, 7-6, victory over Alabama on May 12, 2023. She helped the Lady Vols win two SEC regular-season championships and claim a SEC Tournament title in 2023.
In 2025 at Ole Miss, Beautae has appeared in 31 games, including 29 starts. She has recorded a .357 batting average, two home runs, 20 RBIs, nine doubles and one triple.
Ole Miss will next play in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals Thursday against No. 3 seed Texas, First pitch is slated for 5 p.m. EDT. SEC Network will televise the contest.
