Mosquito Lake State Park's Big Birding Weekend returns
BAZETTA, Ohio (WKBN) — Mosquito Lake State Park's Big Birding Weekend returns next month with a series of events for those interested in birds.
The third annual event kicks off Friday, May 23, with a free indoor event at Champion High School. Keynote speaker Greg Miller, known as the 'Real Life Birder' portrayed in the film 'The Big Year,' will speak at 6 p.m., followed by naturalists Becky Donaldson and Dr. Sean Williams. Naturalist Jason Lee will conclude the evening with directions and highlights for Saturday and Sunday's events.
Events on Saturday, May 24, and Sunday, May 25, include hikes with good opportunities to spot birds and other wildlife, meet-and-greets and options to make bird feeders, among other events.
The events are free, but registration is encouraged for some of them.
