Clive makes the switch to trick-or-treating on Halloween night
CLIVE, Iowa — Another metro community is embracing a switch-up for trick-or-treating in the Fall.
Last week, the Clive City Council officially scheduled trick-or-treating for October 31st, Halloween night. The decision was made after surveying residents in November and December on which night they'd prefer. Halloween night won the majority of respondents over.
Multiple metro cities have recently switched their traditional Beggars' Night, or trick-or-treating, from other dates to fall on Halloween itself. In January, Waukee joined the club.

Bondurant and Windsor Heights have also made changes, but instead of having it on Halloween, they are trick-or-treating on the Saturday before October 31st.
Johnston and Urbandale already have their trick-or-treating scheduled for October 31st.
West Des Moines and Des Moines have asked for input from residents about when trick-or-treating should be held, but decisions on a date have not been released.
