Woman files 8L jewellery theft plaint against help
Kolkata: A resident of Dr SC Banerjee Road under Beleghata PS has lodged a complaint against her domestic help, accusing her of stealing gold ornaments worth Rs 8 lakh from the house.
According to Sumita Haldar, who lodged the complaint on June 4, the stolen jewellery includes a 30 g necklace, bangles weighing 42 g, 9 g earrings, and a 5 g ring, which she kept in her cupboard on April 22.
Haldar said she reopened the cupboard on Tuesday and found the items missing.
Police have launched a probe based on the FIR and are questioning individuals related to the case. The maid's role is under scrutiny, though no arrest was made at the time of reporting. — Tamaghna Banerjee
