Belton ISD offering free summer meals to all children
BELTON, Texas (FOX 44) – The Belton Independent School District will continue its commitment to support students and families over its summer break. The district says it will be offering free meals through its 2025 Summer Feeding Program. This is made possible through a partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The program ensures that children 18 and younger, and enrolled students with disabilities up to age 21, can access nutritious meals at no cost while school is out. No registration or ID is required, and all meals must be eaten on site. Meals are available at the following sites, courtesy of Belton ISD: May 27–July 25 (Monday–Friday)Lunch | 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Hubbard Branch Elementary – 1651 O.T. Tyler Drive, Belton Belton Early Childhood School – 501 E. 4th Avenue, Belton Chisholm Trail Elementary – 1082 S. Avenue C, Belton SEE ALSO: Temple ISD hosting summer learning programs The district says in observance of holidays, Belton ISD sites will be closed on Thursday, June 19, as well as Monday, June 30 through Friday, July 4. The Belton Christian Youth Center will be closed on Thursday, June 19 and Friday, July 4. Details on sex assault charges on Belton teacher released
Belton, Tx (FOX 44) – An arrest affidavit reveals that alleged sexual activity between a former Belton ISD teacher and a 14-year old girl had gone on for over a year. Logan Michael Demeny was arrested by Belton Police following their investigation that began when they got the case February 22 when they learned that an outcry had been reported to Child Protective Services. The affidavit stated that the reporting party had been told by the victim that during her 8th grade year at South Belton Middle School that she had been in a sexual relationship with a teacher. The affidavit stated that the victim was taken for a forensic interview at the Child Advocacy Center in Belton where she told of having a romantic relationship with a teacher at the middle school she attended. PREVIOUS STORY: Belton teacher accused of Sexual Assault of a Child The affidavit stated that in her interview she said there was an instance where she had gone to a Wall Street apartment in Belton where they had sex, when she was either 13 or 14. The affidavit stated that the victim said that over the course of the relationship she had sex with him over ten times. The affidavit stated she provided photographs taken with her phone inside a residence and provided Instagram messages between herself and the accused.
