HoMA has the most romantic evening planned for you and your love
HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu Museum of Art Café is offering a special Valentine's Day prix-fixe dinner for couples on Friday, Feb. 14.
Chef Ben Abes and his team have created a delicious three-course menu for this special appetizers, guests can choose between prawns in chili oil with avocado purée, feta and microgreens or charred market asparagus with miso-hollandaise sauce and spring flowers.
For the main course, there is cioppino, a seafood dish with fish, shrimp, mussels and clams in a rich tomato-and-wine sauce. The second option is braised short rib risotto made with mushrooms and Parmesan and topped with chimichurri and pea tendrils.
For dessert, guests can enjoy chocolate ganache cake with raspberries and chocolate sauce or a scoop of gelato or sorbet from La Gelateria.
'Under HoMA's head of food and beverage Jenny Grondin, the museum is now offering special dinner menus on Fridays,' said Lesa Griffith who is a content specialist for HoMA. 'It started with Thanksgiving last November. You can't ask for a more apt setting than the Honolulu Museum of Art for Valentine's Day—guests can roam the galleries to see romantic works like Monet's Water Lilies then sit down to an equally artful dinner.'
The evening will also feature live jazz music by saxophonist Jason Gaye and his trio who will play romantic tunes so the entire evening's mood is set for romance.
Visitors can also shop at the HoMA Shop where there will be a pop-up featuring locally made, nature-inspired jewelry from Salty Girl.
The dinner will be served from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The experience costs $70 per person, and the menu includes a choice of appetizer, entrée and dessert.
Reservations are required for this unforgettable evening at the open-air café, which is surrounded by sculptures and a tranquil water feature. You can click to make your reservations.
