POOLER, Ga. (WSAV) — The 2025 St. Jude Dream Home giveaway campaign is wrapping up right now. There are four prizes that will be drawn by WSAV's Ben Senger live on WSAV News 3 from the Dream Home. Janis Barrett of Hinesville was the lucky winner for the first bonus prize! The first drawing was for a luxury vacation to Montage Palmetto Bluff, which is valued at $10,000. It's a three-night stay in a River View Cottage. It includes breakfast for two daily, one dinner in the River House and after-dinner drinks in Hush. You will also receive a private tour of the nature preserve with a naturalist. The second prize is a new car. Courtesy of Southern Motors, the winner gets to choose between a 2025 Jeep Compass and a 2025 Honda Civic LX. The final bonus prize is tickets to a Savannah Bananas game courtesy of WSAV. One lucky winner will receive WSAV's four club seats for the game on Friday, Aug. 22, at Grayson Stadium. The final drawing is for the St. Jude Dream Home! Landmark24 Homes and its subcontractors built the home at zero cost to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in the Harmony subdivision. 13th annual Dancing Stars of Coastal Georgia Fundraising Gala
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Those in attendance Saturday night certainly had the moves to help support an important mission. Nearly 800 people filled the Savannah Convention Center Saturday night for the 13th annual Dancing Stars of Coastal Georgia Fundraising Gala. The event is held every year to help raise awareness of the terrible disease Alzheimer's. The event raised over $464,000 to go towards research to help find a cure. Community leaders raise funds for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — WSAV News 3's Ben Senger and Kaley Fedko were the hosts for the 2025 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's 'Visionaries of the Year' awards ceremony Saturday. The 10-week campaign came to a close by honoring the candidates whose actions directly impact the lives of patients around the world. Candidates for Visionaries of the Year were Anna Young, Amanda Cutrer, Bridget McCarthy, Greg Finch, Katie Tashjian, Pritpal Singh and Sarah Araneda. The total amount raised during the 2025 Visionaries of the Year campaign was $481,158. Bridget McCarthy with Team Emily's Encore raised $143,182. Every team worked hard for weeks to raise funds needed to help the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's succeed in putting an end to blood cancer. Tom DeTulleo, Savannah's Campaign Development Director with LLS said, 'We raised over $100K at the Gala, including a frantic and awe-inspiring $74K during Fund the Fight!! The celebrations were electric and there was never a moment — not one — where the mission wasn't front and center. I love what we do, why we do it, who we do it for, and who we do it with.
