Drugs seized from stolen vehicle, Hartford man arrested, police say
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A large quantity of narcotics were seized from an allegedly stolen car in West Hartford on Monday, and a Hartford man was arrested, according to police. Benny Goodman, 30, was arrested in the area of New Park Avenue and Flatbush Avenue. Police searched the vehicle and seized over five pounds of fentanyl pills, 70.5 grams of loose fentanyl, 272.15 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, over four pounds of marijuana, 48.9 grams of suspected Xanax and over six grams of suspected Oxycodone. $2,892 was also seized, according to police. Hamden woman found asleep at the wheel of stolen vehicle, charged with DUI, police say Police say the vehicle had a misuse registration attached and was determined to be stolen from New York City. A child was also allegedly a passenger of the vehicle before police made contact with Goodman, police say. Goodman was charged with first degree larceny, operation of a drug factory, larceny of a motor vehicle and other narcotics and stolen vehicle charges.
