PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The first game of the Big East Tournament features two teams in a similar stance heading into New York City. Both the nine-seeded Bulldogs and eight-seeded Friars are 6-14 in Big East play, and are on losing streaks of at least four games. PC has lost five games in a row. Providence is led by transfer guard Bensley Joseph, who has averaged 12.9 points per game, with Jayden Pierre right behind him with 12.5 points per game. Butler, on the other hand, is led by big man Jahmyl Telfort who is averaging 16.2 points per game with Pierre Brooks II second on the team with 15.2 points per game. In the last matchup between the two teams, Andre Screen had a game-high 10 rebounds, which is something to keep an eye on in this game. Tip-off is at 4 p.m. from the historic Madison Square Garden.
