Devils Lake man killed in crash identified
Jun. 13—GRAND FORKS — A man who died in a Benson County crash this week has been identified as David Moe, 62, of Devils Lake. The incident occurred at 7:42 a.m. Thursday, June 2, on Highway 2, approximately 7 miles east of Leeds, according to a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol. According to the release, a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling west on US Highway 2 and left the roadway, entered the median, struck an embankment, crossed the roadway and came to rest in a slough. Moe died at the scene. Other agencies involved were the Benson County Sheriff's Office, Lake Region Ambulance Service, the Leeds Ambulance Service and the Leeds Fire Department. Moe was not using a seat belt, according to NDHP.

Man dies in Benson County, North Dakota, crash
Jun. 12—GRAND FORKS — A man died in a crash in western Benson County, North Dakota, on Thursday, June 12. The incident occurred at 7:42 a.m. on Highway 2, approximately 7 miles east of Leeds, according to a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The report said "a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling west on US Highway 2 and left the roadway, entered the median, struck an embankment, crossed the roadway and came to rest in a slough. The driver died at the scene." The driver, a 62-year-old man from Devils Lake, was not immediately identified by the NDHP. Other agencies involved were the Benson County Sheriff's Office, Lake Region Ambulance Service, the Leeds Ambulance Service and the Leeds Fire Department. Seat belts were not in use, the NDHP said. The crash remains under investigation.
