(Photo by) The 26-year-old Davis is widely regarded as one of the bright, young stars in boxing. After winning a silver medal at the 2020 Olympics, Davis had his first pro fight in February 2021, picking up a second-round TKO win. He won his first title in his seventh outing, picking up the WBO Inter-Continental lightweight belt with a unanimous decision win over Juan Carlos Burgos in 2022. A little more than two years later, after picking up five more wins (and a no contest for a failed drug test for marijuana), he stepped into the ring against the unbeaten Denys Berinchyk for the WBO lightweight title that Berinchyk had won in May 2024. Davis dominated Berinchyk during their meeting at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. In the third round of that contest, Davis scored a knockdown via a left to the body. Berinchyk, bleeding from the nose, got back to his feet for an eight-count after that blow. However, in the fourth round, Berinchyk was unable to regain his feet after another powerful left to the body, giving Davis the title. Stevenson won the vacant title by unanimous decision. (Photo by) The 25-year-old De Los Santos opened his pro career with 13 straight wins and 12 knockouts. His unbeaten run came to a halt in January 2022 when William Foster III beat him via split decision. De Los Santos bounced back from that setback with three wins (two via knockout). In November 2023, De Los Santos got a chance to fight for a title when he faced Shakur Stevenson for the vacant WBC lightweight crown. Stevenson won that contest via unanimous decision, beating De Los Santos by scores of 116-112 x 2 and 115-113. De Los Santos struggled to land in that contest, connecting on just 13 percent of the punches he threw. ESPN has Davis ranked as the No. 3 lightweight behind Stevenson (No. 2) and Gervonta 'Tank' Davis. De Los Santos is the No. 14 ranked fighter according to the WBO. We will have more on the Keyshawn Davis Vs. Edwin De Los Santos fight card as fight night nears.

Norfolk's Keyshawn Davis wins WBO Lightweight world championship with fourth-round knockout
Norfolk native. Olympian. World boxing champion. All those now apply to Keyshawn Davis after the 25-year-old boxing phenom knocked out Denys Berinchyk in the fourth round to win the World Boxing Organization Lightweight world championship in a battle of unbeaten fighters Friday night at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Davis (13-0) already owned WBO Intercontinental, WBC US and IBF Intercontinental lightweight titles, but he was fighting for a major title for the first time after 12 victories (with eight knockouts) to start his pro boxing career. Berinchyk (19-1 with nine knockouts), a 36-year-old Ukrainian, was making his first title defense after he upset Emanuel Navarrete, a three-division world champ, for the vacant WBO Lightweight world title last May. 'It was an amazing feeling. Right before I knocked him out, I was hearing the crowd saying, 'Norfolk! Norfolk! Norfolk!'' Davis said in a post-fight interview in the ring. 'I was like, 'I've got to knock him out now!' Boom!' 'Hey, Norfolk, Virginia, you got a world champion!' Davis, 5 feet 8 and 134.2 pounds, was a heavy favorite and had the majority of the sellout crowd of 4,979 behind him. The fighters started slowly, with only a combined 13 punches landing in the first two rounds. But Davis found his rhythm in the third round and landed a left hook to the body that sent Berinchyk kneeling to the canvas. Then, at 1:45 in the fourth round David landed a combination to the body that sent Berinchyk down again, and this time he didn't get up. Davis waved his arms as the referee counted Berinchyk out. Earlier Friday, on the Davis-Berinchyk undercard, Keon Davis — Keyshawn's younger brother — defeated Ira Johnson.

Denys Berinchyk vs. Keyshawn Davis live results, round-by-round updates, ring walks, start time for WBO title fight
Uncrowned has Denys Berinchyk vs. Keyshawn Davis live results, round-by-round updates, ring walks and start time for the Berinchyk vs. Davis fight card on Friday night at Madison Square Garden's The Theatre in New York. WBO lightweight champion Berinchyk defends his belt against the fast-rising contender Davis in a battle of unbeatens. Berinchyk (19-0, 9 KOs), a 2012 Olympic silver medallist, won the WBO championship this past May, upsetting the three-division champion Emanuel Navarrete by split decision in his U.S. debut. The Ukrainian previously captured the European title in December 2022 against Yvan Mendy on the Tyson Fury vs. Derek Chisora undercard. Davis (12-0, 8 KOs), also a 2020 Olympic silver medalist, recorded a career-best performance in November when he halted Gustavo Lemos in just two rounds. To put the performance in context, Lemos had previously pushed Richardson Hitchins — now the IBF super lightweight champion — across 12 ultra competitive rounds, which ended with Hitchins edging a razor-thin decision win. The rivalry between Berinchyk and Davis exploded this week when Davis claimed Berinchyk's team sent a racist package to his hotel room containing bananas and watermelon. Puerto Rican super welterweight Xander Zayas (20-0, 12 KOs) meets Germany's Slawa Spomer (20-0, 11 KOs) in Friday's co-feature. Zayas is the WBO's No. 1-ranked contender at 154 pounds for unified champion Sebastian Fundora. Elsewhere on the card, heavyweight contender Jarred Anderson (17-1, 15 KOs) returns for the first time since being knocked out by Martin Bakole in August. Anderson takes on Marios Kollias (12-3-1, 10 KOs). Abdulah Mason (16-0, 14 KOs), who was Uncrowned's runner up for 2024 Prospect of the Year, clashes with Manuel Jaimes (16-2-1, 11 KOs). Berinchyk vs. Davis begins at 5 p.m. ET on ESPN+, with a main card beginning at 9 p.m. ET and main event ring walks expected at around 11 p.m. ET on ESPN. Top Rank ‘disgusted' by ‘racist' act during Keyshawn Davis vs Denys Berinchyk fight week
Top Rank has said it is 'disgusted' by an alleged racist act in the lead-up to Keyshawn Davis vs Denys Berinchyk, after Davis accused his opponent of sending him a box of bananas and a watermelon. Davis made the accusation against the Ukrainian at a press conference on Wednesday (13 February), ahead of Friday's fight for Berinchyk's WBO lightweight belt. The American, 25, said: 'I wanna address the fact that this guy came to America to give me bananas and a watermelon with a note on it. It's unprofessional, and I feel like it's racist, and you just made this fight a little more personal. 'You all heard what I said: this man brought a box of bananas and a watermelon to America to bring to my room, and I just took it as racist.' Davis also posted a photo of the alleged delivery from Berinchyk on social media. Berinchyk, whose response was translated into English by his promoter Alex Krassyuk, denied the accusation. He said: 'First thing I wanna say is that I don't speak English and I don't write English. I saw his message on the media. It's weird even to mention this. Some people with bad intentions, looking for some hype, made this...' Davis hit back: 'He ain't say all that. Look, y'all did it, it's okay that y'all did it, I'm gonna whoop your ass for it. So, just come Friday night.' Berinchyk, 36, responded: 'First thing you need to do is make weight.' Then, during a face-off between the unbeaten boxers, Davis repeatedly called Berinchyk 'racist'. Top Rank, which is holding the event at Madison Square Garden Theater in New York City, later issued a statement on the matter. 'Top Rank is appalled and disgusted by the actions of individual(s) that delivered the package to Keyshawn Davis,' the promotional company wrote. 'These actions are contrary to the foundation of Top Rank. There is no place for this in sports or society. Keyshawn has our full support.'

Keyshawn Davis vs Denys Berinchyk fight time, ring walks
Keyshawn Davis has been touted as the future of the lightweight division ever since he entered the professional ranks in 2021, following a silver-medal winning performance at the 2020 Summer Olympics. This week he looks to cement that status in his first world title fight, taking on reigning WBO lightweight champion Denys Berinchyk in New York City. Only 13 fights into his career, it didn't take long for Davis to earn his first title shot, a far different story from Berinchyk, who waited nearly nine years for his first chance at a world title. Berinchyk won the belt in an upset over Emanuel Navarrete last May and Davis expects a tough test from the Ukrainian in his first defense. "He's undefeated and nobody wants to lose their unbeaten record," Davis told Top Rank last week. "He's coming off his biggest win, which was against Emanuel Navarrete. He also has a lot more experience than I do. And this isn't for a vacant title. I have to take it from him." Here's when Davis and Berinchyk are expected to enter the ring for their world title bout on Friday. Friday night's three-fight card from New York City kicks off at 8 p.m. (CT) on ESPN and ESPN+, with the main event ring walks expected to begin at approximately 10 p.m. (CT).
