Gaza's Healthcare System On Verge Of Total Collapse
GENEVA, June 9 (Bernama-QNA) -- The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) warned that the healthcare system in Gaza is on the verge of total collapse, as part of the genocide perpetrated by the Israeli occupation against Palestinians in the Strip for more than a year and a half, Qatar News Agency reported. In a statement on Sunday, the ICRC said that most of the injured Palestinians were trying to reach aid distribution centre. The ICRC noted that the past few days have witnessed an escalation in hostilities around the few remaining hospitals still operating in Gaza, while calling for the preservation of the remaining healthcare facilities in the Strip to avoid further loss of life.

Uninterrupted flow of aid only way to prevent worsening Gaza disaster, says UNRWA

In a post on the X platform on Sunday, UNRWA said the Israeli blockade -- now in its third month -- has crippled relief efforts and pushed the enclave into deeper crisis, Qatar news agency (QNA) reported. It said Gaza urgently needs between 500 to 600 aid trucks daily, coordinated by the United Nations (UN). "Uninterrupted flow of aid into Gaza is the only way to prevent the current disaster from spiraling further,' the agency stressed. Crossings have remained shut since March 2, leaving vital supplies stranded at the border. UNRWA said Palestinians can no longer afford to wait, as food and medical shortages worsen daily. Over the past 80 days, 58 people have died from malnutrition, and 242 others -- mostly children and the elderly -- have died from lack of food and medicine. The blockade has pushed Gaza's 2.4 million people to the brink of famine. In recent days, Israeli forces have launched ground operations in both the north and south of Gaza, worsening the situation further. -- Bernama-QNA
