Bernese Mountain Dog's Hilarious Stink-Eye During Mom's Manicure Is Too Cute
Self care is important. We have to make sure we take time for ourselves every day, even if it feels impossible. Without taking time for ourselves, it can be really hard to keep motivated, especially in the winter when the days are short and the weather is totally frightful! Equally frightful, though: this Bernese Mountain Dog's stink-eye. On Saturday, February 15th, his mom decided she wanted to freshen up with a nice coat of nail polish. It's safe to say that her pup was absolutely not having it: Good Boy Willard deserves better than this. I mean seriously, how dare she? Does she have any idea how long it'll be before she can play ball now? At least 5 minutes! Willard is about 4 years old. He, like most other Bernese Mountain Dogs, is incredibly dramatic for almost no reason at all. He loves to bark and grumble, and most of all, he loves to play. When he's not playing, he can be found taking up the entire couch to take a nap or grumbling at mom to play with him. It's really a vicious cycle. When mom decided to treat herself, he could hardly believe it. He's ready to play; he has a ball and everything. Here mom goes, putting stuff on her nails that smells bad and will keep her from playing for at least a few minutes, though depending on how many coats, it could be up to an hour. Rightfully so, he's feeling a little betrayed here! Willard is not the only Bernese Mountain Dog who acts like every single thing is the end of the world. Mom putting on nail polish might just be the worst thing to ever happen to him, and if that's true, he's one lucky pup!Bernese Mountain Dogs were bred to be incredible, fearless workers. They often worked in teams, so they're super friendly with other dogs and not super hesitant around strangers. However, as time has gone on and they've become more and more "pet-ified," they've become more dramatic. Bernese Mountain Dogs are big and loud, which can make their grumbling seem much bigger than it is. There are some things that are guaranteed to send a BMD into a temper tantrum, like: Being ignored. Being bored. Hunger. Somebody/something in their space. They're just very expressive pups; communication was important for the breed at the beginning and it's something that stuck with them. Sometimes, there's nothing to be done about a Bernese Mountain Dog's temper tantrum: you just have to let them get it out. Willard's mom was in that boat: the nail polish was already on! She can't wipe it off, that would be a total waste! 🐶🐾🐾
