Experts weigh in on betting and mental health during March Madness
GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — The 'madness' in March Madness may be on the court, but it can also come from the sports books.
With sports betting being legal in North Carolina, basketball fans are ready to bet on their second March Madness ever. Experts say that if you're betting for the first time, it's important to remain disciplined with the amount you bet.
'It shouldn't replace the game. It's just it should just be an extension of it. And if it you know, if it gets too much, you know, obviously recommend that people, you know, put it down if they have questions or concerns about their behavior. You know, there there are numbers that they can call,' said Steve Bittenbender with Bet Carolina.
If you or a loved one is struggling with gambling addiction or coping with March Madness, there's a betting hotline you can call at 1-800-GAMBLER.
