Women's Fund to award $70,000 in grant funding to seven nonprofits in Oshkosh
OSHKOSH – Seven local nonprofit organizations, including The Salvation Army, are set to receive $70,000 in grant funding from the Women's Fund of the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation for their role in serving women, girls and their families.
It's part of more than $3 million in grants doled out by the grassroots movement of Oshkosh women started in 1998.
'There's always going to be needs we can't quite meet, but I'm grateful to our donors who make it possible for us to fulfill as many requests as we can,' said Women's Fund Director Karlene Grabner. 'We're excited to partner with a few new organizations and programs this year. Our nonprofit partners are making beautiful things happen in the community.'

Drug and alcohol rehab center Solutions Recovery, HeadsUp Fox Cities, Reach Counseling, Tri-County Dental, Apricity and Safe Families for Children were also among the organizations awarded funding.
A program expanding its services into Winnebago County, Safe Families for Children supports families in crisis though partnerships with churches, volunteer families, community agencies and government organizations.

'We're honored to expand our services into Oshkosh with the generous support of the Women's Fund,' said Betsy Borns, director of Safe Families in northeast Wisconsin. 'This opportunity allows us to reach more isolated families, provide vital services, and continue building a community where every family feels supported, valued and empowered.'
