She had served her constituents for 26 years and her dedication to the area was recognised last year when she received a Lifetime Legend award at the Local Government Information Unit (LGIU) and CCLA annual councillor awards. Betty's funeral will be held at 10am on Wednesday, June 11 at St John's Church in Barrhead and then at St Conval's Cemetery in Barrhead at 11.15am.
