Suspected Covid case detected in Dhanbad
Dhanbad: A suspected Covid case has been detected in the city, prompting swift action from the district health authorities.
The patient, who was undergoing treatment at a private hospital, was reported to have symptoms related to the virus.

Acting on the information, the hospital management promptly alerted the district health department.
Following the alert, a medical team went to the hospital and immediately isolated the patient. His travel history is being thoroughly examined and his sample was sent for testing. An official confirmation is now awaited.
DC Aditya Ranjan said, "We are waiting for the test results. As per govt guidelines, we are making all necessary preparations to prevent the spread of the infection."
Civil surgeon Dr Bhanu Pratapan also said the department has been put on high alert and all protocols were being followed.
"Necessary precautions have been taken and our teams are actively monitoring the situation," he added.
Meanwhile, officials have begun contact tracing and sanitisation procedures in and around the private hospital where the patient was admitted.
The district administration appealed to people to remain calm and adhere to Covid-appropriate behaviour, including wearing masks in crowded places and practising social distancing.
