KTR asserts KCR will return as CM after three years

Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) asserted that even while in opposition, Telangana's interests continue to remain the top priority for the party. 'We may have lagged in votes, but never in our love for Telangana,' he said, addressing thousands of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) during the Telangana Formation Day and BRS Silver Jubilee celebrations held at the Dr. Pepper Arena in Dallas, USA on Sunday (June 1, 2025). KTR reflected on the journey of Telangana from decades of discrimination to becoming a dynamic and rapidly developing State. Terming the State as a successful startup in independent India, he recalled the role of the BRS and its chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao in securing the decades-old dream of a separate Telangana and transforming it into a progressive State. Drawing powerful historical parallels, he compared KCR to visionaries like Mahatma Gandhi, B.R. Ambedkar, and Martin Luther King Jr. while emphasising KCR's role in leading the Telangana movement from the front. KCR made 'Mission Impossible' into 'Mission Possible', he said. KTR exuded confidence that the party will return to power in three years and KCR would become the Chief Minister of Telangana, again. The former IT Minister called on the diaspora to give back to their motherland by investing in Telangana. 'You have fulfilled your dreams on this Karmabhoomi. Now, it's time to repay your debt to your motherland,' he urged, appealing to the community to support the State's growth journey. Terming the gathering as not just a celebration, but an occasion to solemnly remember the sacrifices made by countless individuals in the Telangana movement, he said it was a reminder of 'our martyrs, our struggles, and our dreams.' The BRS leader also announced plans to establish a legal assistance cell in the U.S. to support Telugu students impacted by immigration challenges, particularly those affected by policy shifts during the Trump administration. 'Texas - the third Telugu State' When KTR declared that Telugu people have three states including Texas, the participants responded with whistles and excitement. Calling Texas the third Telugu State and Dallas 'Dallasapuram,' he sparked thunderous applause. Amid global concerns about artificial intelligence, KTR instilled confidence by stating that embracing change drives victory. The event witnessed a large turnout of Telugu-speaking NRIs from across the United States, as the atmosphere reverberated with slogans of 'Jai Telangana.' Former Ministers and senior BRS leaders were present. Participants hailed the event as the 'largest political rally on American soil by any Indian regional party'.

Kavitha inaugurates Telangana Jagruthi's new office in Hyderabad; dharna against notices to KCR on June 4

Making intentions clear that her political programmes would continue irrespective of the Bharat Rashtra Samiti's (BRS) response to her allegations, MLC K. Kavitha inaugurated the new office of Telangana Jagruthi in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, on Saturday (May 31, 2025). Telangana Jagruthi is a social and cultural group started by Ms. Kavitha during the Telangana movement and continued to be independent despite the BRS remaining in power for 10 years. She continued her association with it and conducted several programmes during two terms of the BRS. The new office is situated right beside her residence in Banjara Hills. As expected, no BRS leader was seen at the inauguration of the office though several BRS leaders used to associate with Jagruthi programmes during the BRS regime. Dharna against notices to KCR The first programme that Ms. Kavitha announced after inauguration of the new office is dharna at Indira Park against the notices issued by the Commission of Inquiry on Kaleshwaram project to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party chief and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. The protest would be held on June 4. Earlier, during an informal chat with media personnel on Thursday (May 29, 2025), she found fault with the party leaders for not responding to the notices issued to the party chief.

The victim's family alleged that he was harassed by Fasiuddin, who is accused of repeatedly demanding money to permit construction activity. As per the First Information Report (FIR) filed with the Borabanda police, the deceased, identified as Mohammed Sardar, had been facing mental distress for the past three months, allegedly due to repeated threats and extortion attempts by local political figures and officials. Sardar, who was also reportedly associated with the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) as a party worker. . Sardar's younger brother, Mohammed Ibrahim, told the police in a statement that the trouble began when the family started renovation work on their home. 'Ibrahim alleges that Baba Fasiuddin began demanding money to allow the construction to continue. When Sardar reportedly refused to pay up, Fasiuddin, his wife Habeeba Sultana, and others allegedly began threatening the family with dire consequences,' said Ibrahim in his statement. A few days before the suicide, the third floor of the family's house was demolished by GHMC officials. As per the FIR, Fasiuddin reportedly told Sardar that the demolition would not stop with just one floor and that he would 'bring down the entire building, foundations included'. He was initially taken to a private hospital in Moti Nagar, and later shifted to another facility in Sanathnagar, where doctors declared him dead. KTR's hypocrisy on women's dignity is laughable: Congress MP

Alleging that the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) was jealous of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy getting all the attention and accolades on the international forums, Congress termed the BRS's effort to sensationalise small issues related to Miss World contestants will only damage Telangana's image. Addressing a press conference here, Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Reddy said the symbolic gesture of some volunteers helping the Miss World contestants wipe their feet was being blown out of proportion by the BRS, which was desperate to damage Telangana's image at any cost. He said the act has to be seen as a gesture of sentiment by some women, and questioned why the BRS was making such a fuss about it? Writing a letter to Sonia Gandhi and the desperate attempt to drag her into shows how the BRS was attempting to politicise a non-issue. Mr. Reddy accused the BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) of crossing all limits of decency and his accusations were purely driven by political jealousy. He alleged that the YouTube channels set up with the 'ill-gotten money' by Mr KTR were promoting falsehoods to defame the Congress government. The use of morphed videos in several BRS campaigns against the government were unethical and also reflect the frustration of the BRS. Mr. Reddy said the irony of the issue was that the dignity of women was being raised by Mr. KTR, who is forgetting that District Collectors during the BRS regime were forced to sit at the feet of his sister and MLC K Kavitha. 'KTR invoking Telangana's self-respect is just laughable,' he argued.
