Bhavans-Bahrain Indian School excels in international exam

Bhavans-Bahrain Indian School (BIS) distinguished itself on the global academic stage by delivering an extraordinary performance in the 2023 Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS). The school's results not only surpassed international averages but also significantly outperformed national benchmarks in both Mathematics and Science at the Grade 4 and Grade 8 levels. TIMSS 2023 is the eighth cycle of a comprehensive international assessment that measures student achievement in mathematics and science at the fourth and eighth-grade levels. The exceptional achievement places Bahrain Indian School among the top-performing schools in the Kingdom. In recognition of these results, the school was honoured by Education Minister Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Juma during a ceremony held on Thursday, 22 May 2025 at the Ministry of Education Hall, Isa Town. The Minister also honoured Principal Saji Jacob and his dedicated team of Vice Principal and Educators for their relentless contribution to Bahrain's growing global reputation in education. In Grade 4, the school's students scored an impressive average of 626 in Mathematics and 642 in Science, significantly exceeding the international averages of 503 (Maths) and 494 (Science), and Bahrain's national averages of 462 and 475 respectively. Grade 8 students continued this high performance with an average score of 590 in Mathematics and 643 in Science, compared to international averages of 478 and Bahrain's averages of 426 (Maths) and 452 (Science). The Directors Himanshu Verma and Ritu Verma expressed immense pride in the accomplishments of the school's students and staff.

Bhavans-Bahrain Indian School shines in CBSE Grade 10 and 12 results

Bhavans-Bahrain Indian School (BIS) has once again demonstrated its academic excellence with a stellar performance in both Grade 12 and Grade 10 CBSE Board Examinations for the academic year 2024–2025, securing a 100% pass rate in both levels. In Grade 12, Evan Binson John topped the school with an impressive score of 95.8%, followed closely by Nivedya Babu with 95.6%, and Adesh Deepthi Shaiju with 95.4%. Evan led the Science stream, while Nivedya topped the Commerce stream. Several students achieved outstanding subject scores, with Evan scoring 99 in both Chemistry and Mathematics, and Nivedya earning 99 in both Economics and Business Studies. Adesh also secured 99 in Biology, while other high scorers included Natalia Manoojin Richards in Marketing and Adithya Saravanan in Psychology. Grade 10 results were equally remarkable, with Pritha Singh leading the batch with 97.4%, followed by Sriya Anish Pulinamparambil (97.2%) and Manjira Goswami (96.2%). Pritha also earned a perfect score in English and shared a top score of 95 in Hindi. Other centum scorers included Preetham Reddy Nagula in Mathematics and Vismita Rajesh Iyer in French. A vast majority of Grade 10 students surpassed the proficiency benchmark, with 96% scoring above 80% in English, 87% in Social Studies, 70% in Hindi, 67% in Science, and 64% in Mathematics. Subject toppers included Pritha Singh and Manveeth Praveen Urwa, both scoring 99 in Science, and Pahal Poojaben Mehta, who topped Sanskrit with 97 marks.

Bhavans-Bahrain Indian School (BIS) marked a major milestone in teacher development by hosting the grand finale of its Speech Craft Program, in collaboration with ICAB Toastmasters. The event showcased weeks of training aimed at improving teachers' public speaking and leadership skills. Educators delivered prepared speeches and participated in impromptu speaking sessions that impressed audiences with their clarity and confidence. Celebrating communication skills The finale opened with a welcome address from School Director Himanshu Verma, who emphasised the vital role of effective communication in education and leadership. Participants spoke on a variety of topics including personal growth, leadership, societal issues and motivation, demonstrating their growth and eloquence. The impromptu speaking segment tested teachers' ability to think on their feet, adding an element of spontaneity to the occasion. All participants received certificates, while outstanding performers were recognised during an awards ceremony. School leaders commend participants Director Ritu Verma congratulated the participants for their dedication and progress in mastering public speaking. Principal Saji Jacob lauded the programme as a landmark initiative that would empower teachers in the classroom and beyond. The Speech Craft Finale was hailed as a celebration of determination, mentorship and the power of learning, encouraging educators to find their voice and inspire others.

Bhavans - BIS celebrates young achievers

The Kindergarten Medal Distribution ceremony of Bhavans-Bahrain Indian School (BIS) was held on March 12, 2025 - a momentous occasion that brought together students and educators to celebrate the accomplishments of young learners. The much-anticipated National Olympiad Foundation Junior (NOF) medals and certificates were awarded to the children who secured gold medals in subjects such as English, Math, Science, and Phonics, marking a significant milestone in their educational journey. As the only school in Bahrain that conducts the Olympiad for Kindergarten students, BIS takes pride in fostering academic excellence from an early age. National Olympiad Foundation is a gamified assessment platform where questions are asked with a voice support assistance which makes this assessment entertaining and engaging. Ninety (90) students from Pre-Kg to Kg-II participated in this International level Olympiad. Idika Ojha from Pre-Kg and Neorah George from Kg-II secured topper mementos as a reward for securing international Rank 1 in Science. School Directors Himanshu Verma and Ritu Verma expressed their admiration for the students, noting their boundless curiosity and remarkable growth. 'Today, we celebrate not just the awards but the spirit of exploration and learning that these children embody. Their enthusiasm inspires us all,' remarked Himanshu Verma. School Principal Saji Jacob also extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the winners, emphasizing the importance of fostering a supportive and encouraging environment for young learners. 'Each child's achievement is a reflection of their unique journey, and we are proud to guide them as they discover their passions and potential,' stated Jacob.
