Meet actor who left MBA halfway to peruse acting, later became a household name with.., also called Bihar Babu, his name is... In the glitzy and glamorous world of Bollywood, it is often the dazzling and superficial lives of the actors that come to the forefront. However, some actors are known for their depth beyond their superficial appearance and lifestyle. One such tale belongs to an actor who is known not just as a great artist but also recognised for his grounded nature and simplicity. Besides being an actor, he is also a mentor, theatre director, writer, and producer. The actor we are talking about is none other than Vinay Pathak. Vinay was born in Bihar, and away from the world of limelight, he was a studious and well-read kid who wanted to enter the world of corporate. He even enrolled in Stone Brook University in the United States to pursue an MBA, but destiny had other plans. During his time in time in U.S., he developed a fascination for cameras and lights, and he started performing on stage, and soon theatre became his second home. Balancing both together, he attended acting workshops along with his ongoing studies. Eventually, he realised that his true calling is not in business but in building and playing characters. Halfway into his MBA, he dropped out of it and returned to India to chase his acting dream. Coming back to India, he ventured into his career with Doordarshan's show Hip Hip Hurray. Carving his own niche, Vinay got into this industry with sheer talent and dedication. But the turning point came for Vinay with the 2007 comedy Bheja Fry, in which he portrayed the innocent and lovable Bharat Bhushan. His impeccable comic timing, strong screen presence, and simplicity won hearts of million with him soon turning into a household name. Besides this, he has also done some impeccable performances in films like Dasvidaniya, Chhoti Si Baat, and Gaur Hari Dastaan. But what stood out was his ability to make every character feel real and relatable. Vinay Pathak's contribution to cinema isn't just limited to acting. He has been a theatre teacher, guest lecturer, and mentor to many aspiring actors. Recently, he got a lot of praise for his work in the film Chidiya and the web series Gram Chikitsalay. Famously known 'Bihari Babu,' he has done justice to this title by carrying the essence of Bihar with him, which is his simplicity and warmth. From humour to pain, Vinay is a versatile actor who can emote any feeling on the screen.

This Bollywood Actor Agrees To X Post On 'Feminism Showcase' At Pahalgam Attack Victim's Funeral

Last Updated: Pahalgam Attack: An X user, who claims to be a former army officer, criticised the decision to have women officers carry Navy Lieutenant Vinay Narwal's casket. The recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir has left the country in shock. Among the victims was Navy Lieutenant Vinay Narwal who was visiting Pahalgam's Baisaran Valley with his wife for their honeymoon. He had tied the knot just a week before on April 16. But their happy trip turned into a tragedy when terrorists opened fire on tourists, killing Narwal along with 25 others. The Navy officer was laid to rest with full military honours in his hometown of Karnal, Haryana. Amid the emotional scenes from the funeral, a post has now sparked controversy on social media. An X user, who claims to be a former army officer, is facing backlash for his comments on the funeral. The user with the moniker Lt Col Sumit Mohan Garg shared a video where women naval officers were seen carrying the casket of the martyred officer. In his post, the X user criticised the decision to have women officers carry the casket. He questioned the practicality of showcasing 'feminism" and 'equality" at such a sombre event. According to him, physical strength is a critical requirement in the armed forces and the moment was not appropriate for such a display. '#Feminism and #Equality don't work in a practical world. Who had the bright idea to showcase feminine power on such a sombre occasion and disrespect the departed soul. It also underlines the unsuitability of women in Armed Forces, where physical capabilities are critical," he wrote. #Feminism and #Equality don't work in a practical world. Leadership, intelligence and resilience are just as important—and women in the armed forces excel in all of these." On the other hand, some agreed with his point of view with one user writing, 'If this tomfoolery was meant to showcase insensitivity towards the departed soul along with the unsuitability of women in the armed forces, then it was spot on." Actor Ranvir Shorey, known for his performances in films like 'Khosla Ka Ghosla', 'Traffic Signal,' and 'Bheja Fry', too seemed to agree. Another person added, 'Absolutely agree, Sir. A coffin isn't a prop. A funeral isn't a stage. And a soldier's last rites aren't an occasion for woke experiments. Disgraceful." 'This is very concerning, 4 trained armed forces personnel could not lift it properly. Are the training modules different for men and women?" a viewer questioned. An individual commented, 'Diversity doesn't make sense everywhere. Soldiers need strength to fight against the enemy." Some questioned the strength of the officers: Women's participation in the Indian Navy initiated during World War II, serving in supportive roles within the Royal Indian Navy. It was not until the 1990s that the Indian Navy began officially inducting women, primarily into the Medical and Education Corps. These early efforts paved the way for current accomplishments, proving over time that gender does not determine capability in these fields. tags : Pahalgam attack Location : Delhi, India, India First Published: April 29, 2025, 15:06 IST News viral This Bollywood Actor Agrees To X Post On 'Feminism Showcase' At Pahalgam Attack Victim's Funeral
