"I hope 'Bhool Chuk Maaf' becomes a milestone in my career": Wamiqa Gabbi
New Delhi [India], May 8 (ANI): Actress Wamiqa Gabbi is gearing up for the release of 'Bhool Chuk Maaf', starring Rajkummar Rao, and hopes the film becomes a milestone project of her career. In a conversation with ANI, she said, 'I think in the first narration, we were so happy. I was laughing throughout the narration. So, I thought, this is so funny on paper. So, it will be so much fun to make, and it will be such a good film. And when I obviously got to know that RajKummar Rao is there in the film, and the whole cast is so interesting, so, I was really excited.' 'I hope 'Bhool Chuk Maaf' becomes that milestone in my career.' Directed and written by Karan Sharma, 'Bhool Chuk Maaf' marks the first on-screen pairing of Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi. Speaking about the shooting experience in Varanasi, she added, 'I cannot forget shooting in the summer, May-June of Banaras. It will definitely be with me forever.' However, she asserted that the 'whole experience of making this film, to be honest. It has been a very good experience. ' The film is presented by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films along with Amazon MGM Studios. The makers of 'Bhool Chuk Maaf' have decided to forgo its planned theatrical release and instead debut the film directly on an OTT platform. The romantic comedy, which was initially set to hit cinemas on May 9, will now be available for streaming on Prime Video from May 16 this year. Recalling the most special project of her career, she shared, 'Every character, every project is always very special. I think for me, 'Jubilee' was very special. I think a lot of people in the industry saw 'Jubilee' and were very impressed with that. So I consider Jubilee like my special moment in my life.' (ANI)

The romantic comedy, which was initially set to hit cinemas on May 9, will now be available for streaming on Prime Video from May 16, this year. ANI attempted to contact the studio representatives, but they were unavailable for comment. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh also posted the update on social media and wrote, 'IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENT... Directed and written by Karan Sharma, 'Bhool Chuk Maaf' marks an exciting new collaboration between RajKummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi. The project is being presented by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films in association with Amazon MGM Studios. The film's story follows Ranjan, played by RajKummar Rao, a man who is deeply in love with Titli, portrayed by Wamiqa Gabbi. In the earlier released trailer, viewers are introduced to Ranjan and Titli as a couple who face a series of challenges on their way to marriage. A police officer suggests that they elope, but Ranjan must secure a government job within two months to win over Titli's conservative family. The plot thickens when the couple gets trapped in a bizarre time loop, reliving their haldi ceremony repeatedly, leading to a series of comedic yet heartwarming events. The decision to move 'Bhool Chuk Maaf' to OTT comes amidst concerns regarding the ongoing national security situation. With recent developments and intensified security drills across the country. Several states observed blackouts as part of the nationwide civil defence mock drills ordered by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). The exercise, which involved scheduled blackouts at key locations, aimed to test the country's emergency preparedness against potential threats. Mock drills are being carried out across major cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Gwalior, and Jaipur, focusing on evaluating local response capabilities to security challenges. The Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor in the early hours of Wednesday, targeting terrorist infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). This operation was a retaliatory response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians, including one Nepali national. A day before Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi's Bhool Chuk Maaf's theatrical release, the makers of the film took to their official social media handles to announce the romantic comedy will now have a direct-to-OTT release on Prime Video. The makers cited recent events and heightened security drills across the nation as the reason behind this sudden change in the release plans. The film will now stream on May 16. The production house behind Bhool Chuk Maaf, Maddock Films took to its official X handle to share a statement that read: 'In light of recent events and the heightened security drills across the nation, we at Maddock Films and Amazon MGM Studios have decided to bring our family entertainer, Bhool Chuk Maaf, directly to your homes on May 16–only on Prime Video, worldwide.' Jai Hind.' The makers of the film had shared a post about 21 hours ago announcing the opening of advance bookings for the film on BookMyShow. However, the option to book for tickets has been disabled by the booking app. The film directed by Karan Sharma is produced by the man behind the Stree franchise, Dinesh Vijan. Apart from Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi, the film also stars Sanjay Mishra, Seema Pahwa, Zakir Hussain, Raghubir Yadav, and Ishtiyak Khan, among others. Bhool Chuk Maaf was earlier scheduled to have a theatrical release on May 9 with the makers releasing its bonus trailer on YouTube on May 5. Earlier, the film was reportedly to be made with Kartik Aaryan and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles. However, Kartik dismissed these claims on his X handle saying these reports had no truth to it. The film, mostly shot in Varanasi, marks the sixth collaboration between Rajkummar and Dinesh Vijan after films Stree, Made in China, Roohi, Hum Do Hamare Do, and Stree 2.
