Student leads by example with 23 blood donations in six years
Chhapra: At just 18, Bhuwaneshwar Kumar from Chhapra donated blood for the first time in June 2019. Since then, he has committed himself to the cause, making 23 donations and inspiring many others to follow his lead.

Bhuwaneshwar's dedication to this noble cause is truly commendable. Despite initial apprehensions, he took the leap of faith, motivated by a desire to help those in need. His determination did not waver, even during the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic, when he continued to donate blood without fail.
What sets Bhuwaneshwar apart is not just his personal commitment but also his ability to inspire others.
As the leader of the youth wing of the Red Cross Society in Chhapra, he has become a role model for his peers and siblings, encouraging them to embrace the act of blood donation. Inspired by him, his younger sister Neha Kumari opted to donate blood on her birthday, rather than having a pomp show. His efforts have borne fruit with several of his friends also following in his footsteps, collectively contributing to saving countless lives.
Bhuwaneshwar, a BEd student at Solanki College, affiliated with J P University in Chhapra, said, "I learned that by donating blood, a person benefits from the production of new cells in the body. It also strengthens the body's defence mechanism."
Asked about his aspirations, Bhuwaneshwar said, "I am willing to serve the country by joining the Army."
Bhuwaneshwar has also emerged as an inspiring motivator among his peers. Thanks to his encouragement, four of his friends – Piyush Raj, Suraj Kumar, Vikash Gupta and Ritik Raj –have become regular blood donors.
