NTPC conducts mock drill at Kudgi plant
Vijayapura: NTPC Kudgi successfully conducted a comprehensive mock drill to assess
emergency preparedness
on Tuesday night. The drill aimed to assess and enhance its
crisis response capabilities
. The high-intensity simulation tested the plant's emergency preparedness under real-time, high-pressure conditions.
The scenario involved a simulated Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) attack on the COT and DOT oil tank locations, critical infrastructure areas within the plant.
The drill focused on evaluating the readiness, responsiveness, and coordination of NTPC Kudgi's internal teams alongside CISF units. NTPC and CISF personnel demonstrated swift and effective action in identifying, containing, and neutralising the simulated threat, showcasing their preparedness and operational synergy.A detailed debriefing session followed the drill, bringing together all key stakeholders. During the session, officials, including Vijayapura SP Laxman Nimbargi and NTPC Kudgi executive director Bidya Nand Jha, reviewed the execution of the operation and analysed performance indicators such as the speed of team mobilisation and response, the efficiency of communication across NTPC, CISF, and external agencies, and the level of coordination among multiple emergency response feedback provided by state officials like SP Nimbargi and Rakesh Jainpura, coordinator, Disaster Management Cell, Vijayapura, underscored the importance of such preparedness exercises. Jha said as a responsible energy producer, NTPC Kudgi continues to prioritise the health, safety, and security of its employees, infrastructure, and surrounding communities, ensuring robust systems are in place to respond to any crisis Bisnoi, assistant commandant, CISF, senior state officials, CISF personnel, and NTPC Kudgi officials also observed the proceedings.
