Jeff Bridges says he's ‘feeling good' nearly 5 years after cancer diagnosis, but dealing with ‘long-term' Covid effects
Jeff Bridges is sharing some good news pertaining to his health. The 'Big Lebowski' star, 75, told People in an interview published Friday that his health is 'very good' and he's 'feeling good' almost five years after he was diagnosed with lymphoma. 'Some things, it's hard to tell if it's the cancer and the Covid or if it's just old age,' he said, adding that he has encountered some memory issues and that he believes he's dealing with some 'long-term' effects from Covid-19. 'I can't smell,' Bridges said. In October 2020, the actor shared his cancer diagnosis via X. 'Although it is a serious disease, I feel fortunate that I have a great team of doctors and the prognosis is good,' Bridges wrote at the time. 'I'm starting treatment and will keep you posted on my recovery.' The following year, he shared an update on his personal website, saying his cancerous mass had shrunk to the 'size of a marble.' He also said he was recovering from a severe bout of Covid-19 at the time, believing he caught the virus after being exposed at the facility where he was receiving chemotherapy treatment. While he assured his coronavirus symptoms were 'in the rear view mirror,' he wrote that 'my dance with Covid makes my cancer look like a piece of cake.' 'Covid kicked my ass pretty good, but I'm double vaccinated and feeling much better now,' Bridges wrote. 'While I had moments of tremendous pain … getting close to the pearly gates, all in all, I felt happy and joyous most of the time. This brush with mortality has brought me a real gift — life is brief and beautiful.' The Oscar-winner recently wrapped his FX series 'The Old Man' and is gearing up to appear in the third installment of the 'Tron' franchise, out later this year. CNN's Sandra Gonzalez contributed to this report.

John Goodman suffers hip injury, causing production delay on Tom Cruise movie
John Goodman is recovering from a hip injury. The Big Lebowski star was treated at a hospital after he slipped during a blocking rehearsal for Alejandro González Iñárritu's untitled new movie in the United Kingdom, Entertainment Weekly has learned. "Actor John Goodman experienced a hip injury," a spokesperson for Warner Bros. tells EW. "He received immediate medical attention that led to a brief delay in shooting to allow him time to recover. The production resumes shooting next week following John's full recovery." Production on the film, which also stars Tom Cruise, is expected to resume on Monday. Representatives for Goodman did not immediately respond to EW's request for comment. "I was trying to be a stunt boy," Goodman told Jimmy Fallon in 2022. "I'm not 69 years old. I'm 23 and I'll do this all night if I have to. I'll prove my worth." He added, turning serious, "It was late in the night and I was too tired to actually be doing this stuff, so I slipped in the gravel and flew headfirst into the back of a truck." Goodman said he "went to the hospital" after the incident. "They give me a bunch of screens," he said at the time. "They couldn't tell if I've got a concussion or had a concussion. So I guess I'm okay." (Cruise also recently revealed that he broke his foot during a climbing sequence in 2000's Mission: Impossible 2, but that injury didn't impact the film's schedule, somehow.) Goodman can next be seen in the final season of The Conners, which premieres March 26 on ABC. He is also voicing Papa Smurf in the upcoming animated Smurfs movie, which also stars Rihanna.
