Body found in Henry County parking lot
HENRY COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — An investigation is underway after a person was found dead in a parking lot in Henry County Saturday.
The Henry County Sheriff's Office said a call came in on Saturday, May 10 about a possible body 'in the parking lot of Gin Creek WMA' — even though the Gin Creek Unit is a part of the Big Sandy Wildlife Management Area, according to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency — on Copper Springs Road.
Man dead, police investigating self-defense claim after shooting in South Nashville
Authorities said they discovered a dead female in the parking lot but didn't share any details about her age or the condition of her body. Next of kin notification is reportedly pending.
The sheriff's office said it contacted the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the 24th Judicial District Attorney's Office to help with the investigation.
Officials believe this was an isolated incident and that there's no threat to the public.
