The Traitors trailer: Karan Johar's reality show turns savage as Uorfi Javed, Raj Kundra, Apoorva Mukhija play dirty. Watch
On Friday, Amazon Prime Video unveiled the trailer for its much anticipated reality show The Traitors. The show, hosted by Karan Johar, brings together 20 celebrity contestants at the majestic Suyagarh Palace in Rajasthan. Among them are traitors, whose identity is kept a secret by Karan. The mission of these traitors is to eliminate the faithful contestants without revealing their identities. The faithful, in turn, must identify and banish the traitors before it is too late. The about three-minute-long trailer teases intense confrontation, strategic alliances, and unexpected betrayals, all under Karan's watchful eye. The trailer introduced all 20 contestants which is a diverse mix of celebrities, including Arjun Kapoor's sister Anshula Kapoor, the Rebel Kid Apoorva Mukhija, veteran actor Ashish Vidyarthi, television stars Jannat Zubair, Jasmin Bhasin and Karan Kundrra. The show also stars south actress Lakshmi Manchu, the Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives fame Maheep Kapoor, casting director Mukesh Chhabra, YouTube Purav Jha, rapper Raftaar, Shilpa Shetty's husband and businessman Raj Kundra. Other contestants include Sahil Salathia, Nikta Luther, Janvi Gaur, Harsh Gujral, Elnaaz Nourouzi, and Sudhanshu Pandey, among others. Most of the contestants in the show have courted controversies in the past. The Traitors marks the return of Karan as a host after Bigg Boss OTT. The Traitors will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on June 12, 2025 with new episodes premiering every Thursday at 8 pm IST. The show is produced by BBC Studios India Productions in collaboration with All3Media International. The Traitors is the Indian adaptation of the Dutch television series De Varraders, which first aired in 2021. It was later adapted in over 30 countries, including the United Kingdom, United States and Australia, among others.

The show will feature 20 participants, and among those confirmed are Jasmine Bhasin, Karan Kundrra, Uorfi Javed, Sudhanshu Pandey , and Raftaar. We have now learnt that Ankita Lokhande , Shivangi Joshi , Dino Morea, and Himesh Reshammiya have also been approached by the makers to participate in the reality show. Whether they eventually join the lineup, only time will tell. Hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar , the game puts friendships at stake as participants turn against each other. Among them lurk secret traitors — chosen by the host himself — who sabotage and eliminate contestants one by one, all while keeping their identities hidden. It's a battle of instincts and deception. As for the confirmed participants, Jasmine Bhasin, Karan Kundrra, and Uorfi Javed are no strangers to betrayal in reality shows. Shivangi Joshi, meanwhile, will soon be seen in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain: Naya Season, opposite Harshad Chopda. According to the post, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan would host the new season of the show's OTT version on JioHotstar. This season, the spotlight may shift entirely to established names from television and Bollywood. According to Telly Reporter, 'Unlike previous seasons, this time, the makers have decided not to approach YouTubers for the reality show." In the past, several influencers and digital creators, including Elvish Yadav, Abhishek Malhan (Fukra Insaan), Manisha Rani, and Rajat Dalal, gained major traction and fan following through their memorable journeys inside the house. Their popularity skyrocketed after their stint on the show, making them household names. However, this time around, the makers are reportedly targeting known TV stars and film personalities instead. While the official lineup hasn't been revealed yet, insiders suggest that casting is already underway. If everything proceeds as scheduled, Bigg Boss 19 is expected to premiere on July 19, 2025. But that's not all—according to a Pinkvilla report, this edition of the Salman Khan-hosted show is all set to be the longest in franchise history. According to the report, Bigg Boss 19 will extend beyond its typical 3-month duration, running for nearly 5.5 months, marking the longest-running season to date," the report states. Adding to the excitement, Salman will film the promo for Bigg Boss 19 by late June 2025 and fans can expect the show to air from July 30, 2025, until January 2026. There has been no official word yet from the channel or production team, but fans are already guessing which big names might be seen in the house this year. Typically, Bigg Boss premieres in September or October, but this year it will start early to allow for a longer run. Another notable change is that there won't be Bigg Boss OTT this year. Previously, the show expanded with a digital version running for about 1.5 months on JioCinema. The first season of Bigg Boss OTT was hosted by Karan Johar, and Divya Agarwal emerged as the winner.
