Minister opens 12-day summer workshop
Patna: The minister for art, culture and youth affairs Motilal Prasad inaugurated the 12-day summer workshop, jointly organised by the department and Bhartiya Nritya Kala Mandir in Patna on Wednesday.

While interacting with the students the minister said it is extremely gratifying to see the tremendous enthusiasm among the children. "The department is always committed to encouraging young talent. I extend my best wishes to all the participants to make the most of this workshop and discover the art within them," he said.
The workshop, to be held from 10am to 2pm till June 8, will offer opportunities to kids aged between 8 and 16 years.
Its main objective is to identify and encourage children's artistic talent and introduce them to various art forms.
Training will be provided in various dance forms which include Bharatnatyam, folk dance, Kathak and Odissi. Music training will also be provided in classical singing, harmonium, tabla, violin and flute.
Another 15-day summer workshop, 'Kala Jagriti', will be jointly organised by the department of art, culture and youth affairs and the Bihar Lalit Kala Academy from May 30 to June 13 at Bhartiya Nritya Kala Mandir. The workshop will provide formal education in folk art forms such as 'venu shilp' (bamboo craft), Madhubani painting, 'tikuli' art, and terracotta.
