By the end of this weekend, new signage will be visible on 1,440 on-street parking meters across Windsor.
Parking enforcement has been extended by an hour from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m., except for Sundays and holidays.
The hourly parking rate will also increase from $2 to $2.25.
Since last Tuesday, 54 tickets of $30 were issued around the University, with no visibility signs reflecting the changes.
Transportation operations, manager Bill Kralovensky tells CTV News those tickets are now void from the system.
They will also be giving an additional week leeway before the 7p.m. deadline goes into effect, to provide additional education.
He adds crews worked through the weekend to check all meters to verify old time markings have been removed.
The 7 p.m. enforcement will go into effect June 24.
Flat fees for city-owned parking lots will also increase.
Lots that currently charge a $3 flat fee from 6 p.m. to midnight will increase to $5.
Additionally, a new $5 evening fee will apply to lots that don't currently have one.
Nominal increases will be seen at municipal parking garages as well.
