Local man killed in motorcycle accident along Jalan Sebauh

The deceased's body and his motorcycle at the roadside. BINTULU (May 11): A local man in his 30s was killed in a single-vehicle accident along Jalan Sebauh at 6.48pm yesterday. Bintulu police chief Supt Nixon Joshua Ali said the deceased was believed to be on his way home from Simpang Sebauh when he lost control of his motorcycle, causing it to veer off the road and crashed into a metal roadside barrier. 'The man was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel,' he said in a statement. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident is urged to contact investigating officer Insp Lydia Allan at the Bintulu Traffic Police Station (086-338575) or the Bintulu IPD Operations Room (086-318304).

BINTULU (April 25): A motorcyclist was killed while another seriously injured following a collision between their vehicles at a traffic light intersection along Jalan Paragon late last night. Bintulu District Police Chief Supt Nixon Joshua Ali said the incident occurred at around 11.49pm. The deceased, believed to be in his 30s, was pronounced dead while receiving emergency treatment at the red zone of Bintulu Hospital around 1am, while the other, also in his 30s, is receiving treatment. Nixon said preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was riding from the direction of Pasar Lama Bintulu towards Jalan Sultan Iskandar when the collision occurred at the traffic light intersection. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
