Style Edit: At Watches and Wonders 2025 in Geneva, Tudor presented new Black Bay models and the Pelagos Ultra – with an in-person visit from ‘King of Asian Pop' Jay Chou
Attendees at this year's Watches and Wonders were in for a treat as long-time Tudor ambassador and the Taiwanese 'King of Asian Pop' Jay Chou visited the brand's booth at the Palexpo convention centre on April 4. There, Chou met others embodying the 'Born to Dare' spirit as he mixed with the watchmaker's experts, had a chat with the media and got hands-on with Tudor's latest novelties. In particular, Chou spent some time admiring the all-new Tudor Black Bay 58. Inspired by a prototype of the Tudor Submariner (Ref. 79190) from the 1990s, the newest addition to the Black Bay 58 line presents a Metas-certified all-burgundy (bezel and dial) 39mm watch with silver accents, retaining all the brand's key design details and the manufacture calibre MT5400-U. The piece has 65 hours of power reserve, 200 metres of water resistance, and comes with a choice of five-link bracelet, three-link bracelet or rubber strap. Advertisement Tudor Black Bay 58. Naturally, not many future wearers of the watch will ever dive anywhere remotely close to 1,000 metres; rather the Pelagos Ultra represents a 'what if?' situation from the brand, taking technical specs to the extreme. The grade 2 titanium bracelet not only has a proprietary 'T-fit' clasp with rapid adjustment system for ease of use, but the buckle position is marked by a discrete indicator for extra visibility. When released in 2022, the Black Bay Pro sought to enhance the tool-watch potential of the brand's signature model, and this year an opaline white dial has been added to enhance legibility of the watch's features. The Black Bay Pro features a 24-hour graduated satin-brushed fixed bezel and a yellow 24-hour hand, enabling wearers to track two time zones in the 39mm piece, which is powered by the COSC-certified MT5652 calibre, boasting 70 hours of power reserve.
