Candice Miller's cryptic post a year after husband's suicide left her $33 million in debt

Influencer Candice Miller has shared her first Instagram post in nearly a year - breaking her lost social media silence after her husband's death by suicide. Miller, who ran the blog 'Mama + Tata' blog, was left saddled with nearly $34 in debt after her husband Brandon Miller took his own life in their sprawling Hamptons estate, reported the New York Post. On Monday night, the former influencer and socialite took to Instagram to share a photograph of the sun setting over the ocean. Accompanying the photograph was a quote by French existentialist philosopher Albert Camus. 'In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer. And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there's something stronger – something better, pushing right back,' the mother-of-two captioned the photograph. Candice Miller is the widow of Brandon Miller, the property mogul who took his own life at the age of 43. The couple had two daughters together. She is a popular internet personality who ran the lifestyle mommy-blog 'Mama and Tata' with her sister Jenna Crespi. The Mama and Tata account had roughly 80,000 followers on Instagram. Miller is also the co-founder of the women's wear label Black Iris. In July 2024, Brandon died by suicide in the Hamptons home after secretly accumulating $33.6 million in debt. At the time, his bank account held just around $8,000. At the time of his death, his wife Candice and their two children were vacationing in Italy. Brandon Miller's death sent shockwaves through New York high society, especially since his wife documented their luxurious lifestyle on social media. Her feed was filled with photos from the parties she attended, their opulent homes, $250 private fitness sessions, trips on private planes and more.

HRH Princess Muna, president of the Jordanian Nursing Council and patron for nursing and midwifery in the eastern Mediterranean region, on Tuesday attends the candle-lighting ceremony for the 25th graduating class of the Princess Muna College of Nursing (Petra photo) AMMAN — HRH Princess Muna, president of the Jordanian Nursing Council (JNC) and patron for nursing and midwifery in the eastern Mediterranean region, on Tuesday attended the candle-lighting ceremony for the 25th graduating class of the Princess Muna College of Nursing. The annual event, held at the college, marks the transition of students from academic life to the professional world. The symbolic act of lighting candles reflects the core mission of the nursing profession, to light the way of healing for those in need. The ceremony opened with verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a poetry reading and a short film highlighting the importance of nursing and Princess Muna's ongoing commitment to the field, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. In her remarks, Dean of the College Brig. Gen. Khuloud Matar praised the graduates for their 'perseverance' over the past four years. Princess Muna personally lit the candles for the graduates, who pledged to carry out their duties with professionalism, empathy and respect for patient confidentiality. This year's class adopted the Black Iris, Jordan's national flower, as their emblem, symbolising selfless service, generosity and giving without expectation. In recognition of Princess Muna's ongoing support for the nursing profession, the dean presented her with the Black Iris plaque.

Black Iris Social Club in Richmond now takes Bitcoin

Black Iris Social Club in the Arts District is now accepting Bitcoin and other digital asset payments. Why it matters: The move makes it among the first Richmond venues to accept digital currency as payments, according to a spokesperson. The big picture: Black Iris is a Broad Street art gallery and music venue turned private social club, coworking space and cigar lounge. The space has been a fixture in the Arts District for more than a decade and continues to host open-to-the-public music and art shows, in addition to its members-only offerings. To execute the cryptocurrency initiative, the social club is partnering with the Virginia Blockchain Council, which will also host regular educational workshops at the space. Fun fact: The Virginia Blockchain Council was inspired by Pubkey in Manhattan, which describes itself as a dive bar for Bitcoiners (it also accepts cash and credit cards). Zoom in: For now at Black Iris, digital assets can only be used to purchase Black Iris memberships, which start at a $275 initiation fee and $37 a month thereafter, per their website. They're hoping to expand the usage to include drinks, tickets and other items once it's integrated with their point-of-sale system. What they're saying:"This partnership is a bold step toward positioning Richmond as a leader in blockchain and digital asset innovation," Virginia Blockchain Council executive director Greg Leffel said in a statement. What's next: The next crypto-learning event at Black Iris is Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 6pm. The event is free, so no need to bring your Bitcoins to this one.
