Altoona police, drug task force arrest leads to supplier

ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — The arrest of a man who allegedly had drugs on him led to the arrest of the Altoona man who police said sold it to him. Nathan Robert Croyle, 43, was arrested April 8 after an investigation into drug trafficking in the City of Altoona by the Altoona Police and the Blair County Drug Taskforce. According to police, they were conducting surveillance in the area of 27th Street and Maple Avenue and conducted multiple traffic stops of people leaving a residence later identified to be Croyle's. One of the stops was 30-year-old Jayson Riscigno, who police said was dropped off at the front door and then seen leaving through the back. Riscigno was found to have a warrant for his arrest through the Blair County Sheriff's Office. While searching him, officers said he was found with heroin and crystal methamphetamine. Altoona man arrested ahead of drug deal in the city, police report Through investigating, police were led back to Croyle, prompting the Altoona Police K-9 Unit to get a search warrant for Croyle's residence. The search warrant was then executed by Altoona police, Logan Township police, Tyrone police, state police, detectives from the Blair County District Attorney's office and the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office. Croyle was reportedly found in the basement and taken into custody without incident. A search of the residence found 32 packets of suspected heroin with a street value of $640 on top of an air duct in the basement, police was placed in Blair County Prison with bail set at $150,000. According to a criminal complaint, Croyle was also discovered to be the 'unknown Black male on a bicycle' who police said sold heroin to a man who was supposed to deliver it as part of a controlled buy.
